The power of this stuff continues to amaze me. For some reason a TV series I saw when I was about 12 came back to me. Thought it was a Francis Durbridge mystery and could only remember a character called Tolley.

A good test for CoPilot I though - found it after I asked 3 questions...

Yeah I'm sure I could figure it if I was there, very hard from Screenshots. Either keep all your files in Google Drive, or nothing in Google Drive and point the add folder bit to all the folders you want to sync - then to work online with them you'll need to go to 'computers'
Just quickly could you expand the My Laptop and the My Drive and screen shot. I am pretty sure you will have the 'documents' folder in both. Which might be confusing google, dunno

Fuck me, I think I've cracked it. I unwittingly had a document folder hiding in plain sight amongst a bunch of duplicate files. And that was the one where the updates are going (checked the location on the newly synced file and there it was). Deleted all of the copies, and I'm left with one set of files, under Computers, that I assume can be used either online or on PC, and they will be synced. Thanks for the help mate, a box of virtual beers are on their way. Anytime you need advice on my specialist subject don't hesitate to ask 🙂

Fuck, what a fucking mess to start the year.

We’ve been lucky - no one involved that we know of has been harmed in either incident so far, but my in-laws and one team member’s family were evacuated.

Neither live there but no word yet on my team members family home. Hopefully they don’t have too much damage.

@Frank Ok if that's what is sounds like to you Frank, simply kind of giving my observations as Major was.
I genuinely don't feel the need to ever defend country, I am incredibly happy here, don't think it perfect (have yet to find Nirvana anywhere), but as I said ,I haven't found any countries I have disliked anyway. As I pointed out we can go anywhere and find what's wrong, or right with any country, just not something I tend to do.

@MajorRage yeah had a shocker in a cafe here in EB, which is bizarre as it's ridiculously popular (blame it on the French). But across the board absolutely top notch.

Chocolate Dayz in Days Bay and The Hideout in Paihia top of the list so far.

    Just saw amazing shooting star.

No doubt re-entry of space junk.

Went and leaned on balcony looking for breeze and looked up toward Orion (east-ish) and massive trail blazed past southerly-ish.

3 or 4 secs. As clear as ye olde worlde Guy Fawkes skye rocket. (It wasn't.)

    So cool.

    Maybe space junk, maybe not.

Saw an amazing one night before last too so had a look to see what was going on (good website this):

Look Up to See the Geminids Light Up the Night Skies Look Up to See the Geminids Light Up the Night Skies

Check out our meteor shower animation to find out how, where, and when to see these shooting stars.

"The Geminids are considered to be one of the most spectacular meteor showers of the year, with the possibility of sighting around 120 meteors per hour at its peak, which is on December 13 or 14, depending on your time zone."

The geminids were peak over AKL but would have visible to you and went from 3 Dec to 19th.

Given my previous life involved thousands of hours of staring mindlessly at stars in the middle of the night, I have seen some pretty cool shooting stars, but the other night was as good as I have seen from the ground (no light pollution at my place). Better from 30,000+ feet but very cool none the less.

Probably the most awe-inspiring thing that I have ever seen was a Leonid shower over Northern Alaska with the Aurora as a backdrop. Streams of shooting stars crisscrossing the sky with purple and green wavering curtains all around. Felt like we were just sitting in the middle of it as the stars appeared to even fall below us with our altitude and angle of view. The tropopause at that latitude is so low that the whole show was crystal clear and obviously no light pollution, just staggeringly beautiful.

Today I saw a Toyota Tundra for the first time. They had to park it in a temporary space outside our hotel because it didn't fit in the carpark.

First impressions: obscenely large. Would fit 5 adults easily, sure, but how often will you be doing that?

Land Cruiser is smaller! This thing is quoted at nearly 6.5 metres... 🤔 depending on config.

I see a few of these around now - Dodge RAM 1500, Chevy Silverado, and of course the F150. The staple trucks in our back yard are getting bigger too in terms of the Hilux, Triton, Ranger etc.

Short of needing to tow an obscenely large caravan or horse trailer, I'm not convinced anyone needs that much truck in terms of the Tundra.

"But rural people" I hear from some who have lifestyle blocks (because they need a fucking huge shed to park in). Yeah doesn't always add up - you can get more tray for less money and better performance on dirt and the farm.

When I see that the height + width of this is nearly the same as my dream Rivian R1T, I start to question my choices, having seen it in the metal...

So, here's the thing. Has wokeness actually worked on me, or have time changed so much that classic songs / movies are now more of a real representation of an awful time for woman / lgbt that has passed?

I think the term 'wokeness' clouds things a bit. It's become a bit of a loaded term.

I'd say the more extreme political 'wokeness' would be saying that these songs/movies are offensive and should no longer be heard/seen. Or edited to reflect more modern sensibilities.

What you are describing is a pretty natural and sensible reaction I think. We now know and understand a lot more about sexism/racism than we did in the 80s. Some things were OK to joke about then but certainly aren't now.

The best response is to understand the context, but still wince at the funny rape scene or the slur in the Dire Straits song. I think that's a pretty good way to go about it.

Are Landcruisers a thing in NZ. Perfect vehicle for the OZ environment, latest models with a few extras now well over a 100k though

Yeah, the 24 valve 80 series really hold their value here . Shame the 70 series goes back to four cylinder next year.

There will be a V8 in the future but WHAT- automatic transmission!

I'm sure back in our day it was a right of passage to have a near death experience choking on a K-bar.

I recall going on fishing trip with the old man and insisting on taking K bars with us, the poor fulla had a choking fit that started out as hilarious and descended into a genuine fear that I might need to take the oars and pilot the boat back to shore to get medical assistance.

Thankfully he recovered and no emergency maneuvers were required by my 10 year old self.

    Ahh the fond childhood memories.
