Oh yay Mo'unga to get another start at 10......
Someone needs to get experience. We don't want a situation where we only have one five-eighth.
do we have that now?
Yes, he has an injured archilles.
i thought we all decided he was no more than okay at 10? or are we just happy to have that level of output now?
I think we were wrong. I was one of those who thought maybe he was a better fullback, but that was when we had Cruden and Sopoaga as 10 options. I think the facts speak for themselves - when he was at 10, he was WR player of the twice in a row and we actually went a lot better than we are now (some similar issues, yes)

@NTA love how you're making predictions for the second game and not the first, playing it safe.
Note: close first game with Wallabies looking good means second game at Eden Park means Wallabies get thrashed.
58-3 looks like a safe bet.

Can't pick 2005 Dan Carter, so just have to pick the best we have and that's BB.
RM has a long way to go to get to BB's standard. And we need to start developing other options to help RM improve and give us a backup plan if this is his ceiling.
Reminds me of the Mannix/Bachop days. No stand out options, waiting for a Merhts to appear on the horizon.
That's a pretty harsh comparison to make with 2x WR player of the year BB

@mariner4life No doubt, however, that is a massive IF. Some guys can develop the required skills on the go (Nonu springs to mind) and I hope Mo'unga can for the benefit of the national side, but my concern is, is that he hasn't had to change a hell of a lot at Super Rugby due to his side being so successful and has only really had to play in the one style, which hasn't transferred to test level. I hope that he has started to realise that other aspects of his game need to develop which I'm sure he has if he is to succeed at this level, otherwise I can't see him lasting that long if he thinks he can just transfer the same stuff from Super level to Test level.
Im expecting big things from him at Eden Park or whatever its called now, he certainly needs a big test.
No doubt. But First Five is a learning curve position in Test Rugby. if we look back BB,Merts were not a roaring success straight away.
DC was eased in at 2nd five for a season.
It takes time at First Five we need to stay with RM for a while no doubt he needs to improve but if BB is having achilles problems they can hang around for some time and can flare up again, pick Ioane he's no.1 who is next if he goes down if you take RM out of the picture with BB injured.
No need to panic yet up, front is the problem we have been bullied and out played there in the last 2 tests. The LF mix is fucked up and our best FB is on the wing Foster needs to sort a lot of shit out maybe find a decisive game plan I don't see one yet.
If you don't at least get parity up front you don't win.Mehts was an immediate roaring success.
finished in fat whimper 8 years later though.

we are Cheika's wallabies. start saying goodbye to trophies

Wallaby fans must find it hilarious to see the hyperventilating about BB and RM, when they have O'Connor at 10. Excellent player but not a test standard flyhalf.

so...in the last 10 minutes ive seen posts on the socials saying
BB didn't train today
JB seen limping with an icepack
and obviously WhitelockMy Barrett voodoo dolls are working.
Hopefully all short term despite your efforts. What did you do to older brother Kane? Chuck the doll under a stampeding herd of cattle?

Only short term, and only really for SB when he plays 6, and BB when he was an awesome player but not good 10 (I actually want him returned to 10 at the moment), and only JB, um, when he makes his silly mistakes.

It helped that they had front-foot ball and Sqeak from Baseketball having a picnic at the breakdown.

Someone needs media training. "You saw what you saw, the ref can only adjudicate on what his team sees and on the field we need to do a better job responding".

Grant Fox just said it's a 3-test Bledisloe.
Just watched it on YouTube. Have never seen Foxy this defensive and stressed before. Very unlike the cool and measured person we have seen over the last few years.

Yeah the 'nz needs to understand' is bullshit. Proof is in the pudding and since 2017 the ABs Plum Duff has had more rat dung and cat vomit in it as time has gone on.
Interesting Squidge about Japan beating Boks in 15. I was watching that at (soccer type) bro in laws house, so just checking in once every so often. By the end we were all around the TV! But they played very much off 9, with long passes. That is something the ABs could learn from AKA Lions Test 1, certainly something to think about, with Aaron's bullet pass

Just on BB, I am having trouble explaining what is going on there. It's like he has something major on his mind and rugby just isn't doing it for him anymore. He has just been off all year, did he miss Wellington that much or is married life not all he thought it would be?
Or is it possible he has always wanted to play 10 and has just got the shits the Fozzie has forced him to play 15 and influenced the Blues for him to play there also?
