So, do these cards really keep players safe and stop high tackles? Almost seems the players are resigned to the fact they are likely to get carded. Maybe a tactic is to dive into the tackler.

NObody, really NObody, can say that ABs get favourable treatment from refs. What a bs.

They'll say not being reds is the favourable treatment.

You got to wonder if players will deliberately dive in low the way this is going

    It's a legitimate tactic now

The tournament is now a farce.

Sending from the field for a vertical arm at knee height makes an impossible option for a defender.

What other "technique" can he do?

Massive can of worms opened today

honestly what do you do when an opposition is at knee level? Do you just stand down?

Analysis from ITV (Bloody good, BTW ) saying it was for a swinging arm.

And questioned what a player is supposed to do with his limbs when falling down

players were dropping their knees in the AFL, or shrugging the arms so tackles would end up high. And then the Umpires started cracking down on that and not penalising players who did end up tackling someone doing those things.

It is now highly likely a card will decide a knockout game, hope it’s not us on the wrong side.

It only becomes a a swinging arm when there is contact with the head, otherwise it's a standard tackle

Yeah, I'm not sure why you have to attack a player that's already half tackled. The swinging arm isn't good and not in that manner.

Just fall on your head, apparently. Can't use your arms to break your fall, because they might touch someone's neck or head.

It is physically impossible to tackle a player below the shoulders when they are a foot off the ground. Stupid, officious and pedantic and doing nothing for players’ safety.

Next question is... will we lose Ofa or Nepo for the Italy game - and then if we did, does Hansen call up... Franks? someone else?
