@Rancid-Schnitzel Well, Ireland and the Lions might have something to say about that.

Dmac was average again tonight, but unfortunately the result of the test won't force the coaches into considering dropping him.

It was an easy game for him and he did drop one early but he was better today. Looked more assured under the high ball and made good decisions to run towards his support.

@Pot-Hale Freedom Cup. Only played for between NZ and SA.

Ah ok. They'll have to wait until next week then. šŸ˜

We try to plan it so there's a different cup to drink from each week.
(Sorry - that game has truly upped my Arrogance, Hubris, and Condescension attributes)

It's getting harder to lap this shit up privately, but pretend to be genuinely concerned about the poor opposition in public.

Nah - Don't worry - none of us believed the concern anyway.

    Quick thoughts.

Congrats to the all blacks and their fans. Should be very happy tonight.

For the springboks, too many guys not up to this level. Coetzee, Rhule, Kriel, Hougaard, Du Toit (as a flanker) Nyukane (as a tight head) Bongi can all fuck off.

Re the Reffing - whatever that was, it was not rugby game you were calling. Fuck off

Meant down south here. After the shit I copped at school here whenever the Wallabies won, it's very weird to hear the verbal bj the ABs are getting these days.

weird game huh. up by so many so early while playing so shit.
despite the scoreline, there were still lots of annoying errors to go with a fair bit of very good stuff. i'm a barrett fan, but too many shit kicks too often these days (you too coles), and way too many passes that outside backs had to stop to catch. maybe some of that blame is due to the outside backs over-running it, can't be arsed checking, but it really killed a few opportunities.
taylor was great around the field tonight, but having coles back has made the lineout secure again - and i'm sure we'll see his running game again before long.
our two locks are just fucking awesome eh - 80 minutes at such high quality. a pleasure to watch.
ardie savea just looks knackered or injured or something to me. i don't think it is that he is being proven not up to it - i think he's playing worse than previously. cane is going good though, big man hard man.
scott barrett deserves a fair bit of kudos for taking over from squire early.
sbw - good again, as usual, when he runs straight and hard and doesn't try to be a hero. tried it once, turnover. just not good enough to play that way, play within his limitations and he is an asset.
NMS... chresten davis would catch him from behind. still a good player though. that try with BB gave me the shits though. unnecessarily high risk, save that for when you're up by 50.
dmac, a bit better tonight, except the shocking first high ball.
aaron smith. great tap and kick for the ioane try. jesus he makes the job easier for everyone outside him. makes a man pine for younger years. i am really stoked with how he has developed his game to the extent that sex scandals and the never-ending shame of atrocious spelling no longer even seem to make any impression on his form.

    @Bones I shouldn't be commenting right now.

The interpretation of all the "contact off the ball" calls was comically bad. Obstruction, clearing past the ball, continuing after the whistle and rolling away was in no way rugby.

    Offside was not policed.

Inexperience of the springbok team brutally exposed though. A better side would have identified the gap being afforded by the ref, but the Springbok team failed to take advantage of the opportunity to spoil when it was clearly being allowed

Because SA have two teams playing in Pro 14 comp the SARU President Mark Alexander has been quoted as saying the Springboks could, sometime in the future, field two different test teams - one of a team from the Pro 14 players for tests in Northern Hemisphere and the other of a team from Super Rugby players for tests in Southern Hemisphere.

It was Jurie Roux who said that in an interview around time of the PRO14 launch in SA.

@Pot-Hale I think it's these comments here by Mark Alexander (three days ago) that Burger is specifically referring to.

57-0 wow didn't see that coming.

Ioane was shit hot. Savea isn't getting that spot back unless Ioane is injured.

Plenty of guys played well. SBW much better when he isn't trying to pull off an off load every touch.
Scott Barrett was good at 6. Great to have that cover on the bench.
Pity Squire went off though, he was looking good.

BB's goal kicking was much better. More of that please.

Dmac was better this game but still showing a tendancy to run across field and get monstered.
That early high ball drop was bad too.

As someone else said during the game Hames showed that all he is renowned for is giving away penalties. Crockett needs to start until Moody is back.

Ofa was good. Hopefully he has turned a corner.

Thought NMS was pretty good. Not sure why everyone is down on him for lacking pace. As far as i can remember outright pace has never been his strength. It is his stepping, skill and awareness. He showed those tonight. Slowing up to give BB the ball was a much better option than trying to make it and getting run down.
Of our recent 14s only Naholo is known for having real gas. Not sure Dagg or Smith would have made it all the way for that try either.
