He also wasn't even playing, didn't have the excuse it was in the heat of the game. In addition it was 3 times, not a one off, after the game. And professionals that are role models should be held to a stricter standards than club players, not lesser

    The walrus is furious.

Thinks it should be 6 months at least.

It's ridiculous that an apology can be deemed a mitigating factor. It should be part of the sentence.

Why did Sexton get only three weeks when Dylan Hartley got 11 weeks for something very similar?

    May 26, 2013  /  Sport

Dylan Hartley out of Lions tour after being handed 11-week ban

Dylan Hartley out of Lions tour after being handed 11-week ban

Dylan Hartley will miss the Lions tour to Australia after receiving an 11-week suspension and has been replaced by Rory Best

I don't think we need to whip him from Dublin to Galway for this - Tullamore is quite far enough.

If he ends up in tullamore that’s more than enough punishment. That place is a shîthole.

    @sparky

That's an interesting one is't it? At the time I thought Hartley hard done by as whilst he did call someone "a fucking cheat", it was pretty hard to be definite it was aimed at Barnes.

On the other hand Hartley was hardly unknown to the judiciary and had previously pushed an official in anger.

However, I thought on balance he was hard done by in that particular instance.

@sparky although I don’t necessarily have too much issue with the process and ban this incident was the first one I thought of.

Hartley could certainly argue he wasn’t talking to the ref too …. Which sexton couldn’t.

Sheesh don’t make me agree with the rus

Don’t worry, Sexton will get his in the quarter final, if they can beat Scotland. You’ll be able to bottle his tears.

Guys like that make me wish they get knocked out early. Or is this Ireland's answer to the Walrus?

Ferris is a former Irish teammate so take his comments with a huge grain of salt.

He has grown the game globally for 2 decades? Yes, his enormous impact on rugby's worldwide expansion reminds me of all those kids in Jordan 23 singlets during the 90s. Like John, if I could be like John!

If an AB did something like this I would have no problem with a ban and would also have wanted it to be more severe.

Unless it was Aaron Smith - we really need that guy

Yeah he wouldn't do anything like that. He'd be too busy ploughing some tart in the disabled toilets.

Love how he doesn't get the irony of trying to say this guy is the face of rugby, but has been treated harshly by getting a very light ban for doing something disgusting while the face of rugby.

I preferred it when they were the plucky Irish, now they are just bores. Funny, maybe that's what people used to say about the ABs and their supporters...

They still do. English fans mainly.

Mentioning that and constantly making crap jokes about Richie McCaw being offside all the time.
