@Winger said in Scotland v Wales 6N:
27 years (1996) since they last won the first 2 match in the 6 nations...
If that is the case then they've never won the first two matches in the 6N as it was the 5N until 1999
I thought someone might pick this up

Odd you'd boast about your lack of success.
Success? That indicates a need to set a measure.

Italy joined in 2000. Never knew what the exact year was and didn't look it up.

Well beaten, but I can see where weâre going
Biggar and North the handbrakes in the backline
Good âdebutâ for our back row
As we get fitter through the tournament weâll be more accurate

How about the pre-match chat from Biggar.
What a bell-end.
"Medals are important when you look back at your career. We've been lucky enough to fill the cabinet a few times. It's up to other teams to try and replicate that. There are other teams around who get a fair bit of praise without really backing it up." âScotland played well last week against England, but according to you guys, they are the best team around, arenât they?â âWe will have to see how they go on Saturday, see if they can back it up. The pressure is all on them."

@KiwiMurph ages like milk
Big talk for a very average player
-
Scotland were good. Wales were dire.
Hard to tell if Scotland could come second this year.
-
@MiketheSnow Who are the young players that can be selected to provide some spark?
It's a pity the likes of Rees-Zammit are injured.

@sparky he's got a couple who are playing well in Wales in McNicholl & Collins that he's overlooked so far.
Time must be up for the likes of North & Fluffbert, offering next to nothing these days.Far too early yet but thereâs a young fly half called Iwan Jenkins in the Exeter squad (out on loan atm I think), who is being talked up as having very serious potential.

Really nervous about playing Scotland in Murrayfield. I think the French will narrowly beat them in Paris. But if the Scots manage to beat them, they can win the GS. I've always felt the away game to Scotland was the big one for Ireland.

However, after the emphatic Murrayfield win, Ritchie took a swipe back at Biggar with the Triple Crown and even the Grand Slam in his side's sights.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, the Scotland skipper admitted he didn't know Biggar had made those comments, but went on: "Talk is cheap isnât it? We havenât won anything yet but weâve won the first two games. Theyâve won medals but thatâs in the past.
"We put Wales under pressure. We knew if we stuck to our game weâd create opportunities and their discipline slipped. We knew they wanted to turn it into a messy affair which is what happened last year. We stayed out of that today."

There are some world class players on display in the 6N. A back three of Van der Merwe (Sco), Penaud (Fr) and the Italian 15 would be right up there. Russell had a fantastic game.
Imo Scotland can hope to reach RWC quarters and wales should be worried about not getting out of theirs.

That is a very bold call considering the groups. Can't see Scotland beating Ireland. Wales should be able to improve enough to beat Fiji though.
How weird top 5 teams in world all on same side of the draw!
Spot on with back 3 though... -

Spot on with back 3 though...Wales have a poor record vs PI teams in RWC. I think Scotland can beat SA though. Ireland routinely choke in RWCs.
