We do have room for hyperbole here. Without it the threads would be short.
I suspect you underestimate the repetitive and circular nature of certain posters or posters. Not to mention magnificent meme memory fails.

"All blacks at 6's and 7's, just like their world ranking at the end of the year" Pure gold, can NZR please employ this bloke for their analysis.
That's Joe's job
So what is his job at the moment?
'Ian?'
'Yes, Joe?'
'Playing like shit again, Ian.'
'Thanks for the learnings, Joe. Maybe Cane at 7 and captain, Shannon in at 6 to shake things up?'

Once again I'll have to build up to watching, so painful
His shrill narration? Yeah agreed.
I lasted 55 secs. Any value is beyond my capacity for putting up with irritating shit.
More importantly the Springboks didn't demolish the All Blacks, the All Blacks placed themselves under pressure time and time again. Teams short on confidence and form drop catchable passes, or over run supporting lines, or shovel to someone else in a worse position.
If the All Blacks played against a team that's good at scoring tries like the Wallabies can, they'd have lost by a lot, lot more on that performance.

We look paralysed by doubt and indecision right now

More importantly the Springboks didn't demolish the All Blacks,
The Boks beat us in nearly every facet, it wasnt even a fair fight. Our biggest loss in SA since forever and we had no chance of winning that game. I think that is worth being called a demolition among other things.
The worry for me is this bloke can point out everything wrong with the AB's in a short YouTube video yet Fozzie is saying it was our best performance of the year. If that was our best I hate to think what might happen this weekend.

Don't look at the statistics, look at the manner in which they're achieved. A penalised scrum, Marx's wonder turnovers, flying bodies into the space for kick receivers and a solid case of tits for hands suggests less of a tactical destruction and more of individual incompetence.

Anyone can point out what went wrong, but even then this squidge still gets it incorrect. E.g. less than three minutes in.
The problem here is the timing in Ardie's support line. The video maker gets it wrong. If Ardie is two steps back he's either released into a gaping hole or Cane is free to run because his opposite is forced to make a decision.

@antipodean or to look at it another way, if the bok player is half a step back. His excellence made this look bad. If he isn't right up there to put his hand in the way we look to have manipulated things well. In this 'new way' Cane seems to be used a lot as a link before a carry which is probably why he looks bad if you look for 'traditional 7 play'.
This is the kind of example that I can picture Foster thinking 'man we nearly got that really right' -

This is the kind of example that I can picture Foster thinking 'man we nearly got that really right'The problem is Foster would likely be correct. Slightly deeper and Ardie can steam on to a pass and he's away. Springboks flying up in defence isolate themselves to well timed and angled support play. Or because Ardie has more depth Kolisi may be forced to abandon the rush.
Just as asking our forwards to actually run hard like Scotty did and got well over the advantage line., rather than statically passing to an obviously looping back. At no point are we making the opposition make decisions because it's clear as fuck what's going on.
Those are things within our control.

@pakman Yeah and good luck to Squidge. I'll have to see if I can find links to his earlier videos. He literally got a cease and desist and they were taken off Youtube mainly imho as they were a bit too "edgy" i.e. funny as f*ck
As an analyst his enthusiasm is greater than his experience so sometimes he "sees" things that don't exist or are happening randomly ... not a pro but better than most of the dross on TV or in the papers
What happened to those two guys who did 1014 rugby - Steven and Gareth? They were great fans, good analysts, then sold out to someone. Then I never heard any more ...
-
@Mario it's funny isn't it, people raved about 1014 but I thought they were pretty meh.

This is the kind of example that I can picture Foster thinking 'man we nearly got that really right'Sam Cane is a great defender, but has mediocre hands and passing ability and should not be used for that role even at NPC level.
Having said that, Ardie Savea is the forwards' Rieko Ioane: he makes other players look bad by being in the wrong place all the time, while making a few highlights reels for himself. -

I dunno what match you watched, but I watched a game where the all blacks had their second worst result versus SA, and equally 5th ever. They were so dominated that I think the ABs are still having wet dreams over being able to play for the boks, I'd only they were good enough. They were so dominated they were lucky too come second
If you watched more than 55 seconds you would see quite a lot of evidence of how much the boks made Foster's ABs their bitch

Nope we were smashed, tactically, individually, and most certainly dirtily ( in the fine art of playing the limit and the ref). Dominated, totally
Over two tries loss

Point is at least they were looking at stuff. Same as squidge. It's not that he was good, at least there is thought. There is actual thought and theory, even if it's wrong I'll appreciate it more than the cheerleading we see in NZ media.
Note squidge was calling ABs shit years ago, it is only now that NZ media are catching up to the comments on this forum, which have been similar to squidge. We've been shit and lacking innovation for years, it's now catching up
