Springboks v All Blacks I

OK, finished watching it now.
Christ, we were lethargic. Seemed like the Super Final all over again - one side knew their game and tactics and executed, the other defended stoutly, but you can't gift that much possession to the opposition and hope to be in the contest.
Angus was just in a free for all at rucks - supporting bodyweight didn't seem to matter ... so why the hell weren't we doing it?
This will come as an absolute shock, but if our mindset and accuracy improve a bit, we'll be very very competitive next weekend. Scrum still an issue, but that was a game that so much went wrong, compounded by not playing the ref well and it all just slipped away. I'm hopeful rather than confident, mind you, but a back to basics approach ( @mariner4life ) seems a bloody good idea.
There is something deeply wrong behind the scenes for us to be playing this badly. It's got ot change, and soon.
otherwise, it was one of the more painful ways of spending 80 minutes I can remember.

While the Boks start as favourites in Boks v AB's II (and I hate it when we start as favourites) this is my view too.
I understand the gnashing of teeth by the AB fans, but I honestly don't think the AB's are as shit as many say. Test rugby requires that you are accurate north of 99% of the time in every facet, including decision making. It won't take much for the AB team to turn it around. I sincerely hope they don't! Getting 2 on the trot against the old foe would be nice - for me But it also requires the Boks to be at their best. Any slip in intensity and they will be in trouble.

Guarding against complacency will be Nienaber's focus this week. I think the Bok camp will be switched on this week. There are too many examples of the ABs snatching a win from the jaws of defeat for this group to think any differently. Just need to show a replay of the 2018 game in SA to see what happens when you take the foot off the throat.

The players aren't shit, but the systems are.

Started favourites before the first game, second to best victory ever. i wouldn't worry with Foster's follys

I said this somewhere else. As shit as we were, SA won that game, at least on the scoreboard, by two tries gifted to them. Yes we're getting absolutely belted but we're never too far away in points. I firmly believe this team is 2 passes away from putting a win together. Will it be this week? I don't think so but it needs to happen soon. Either way, the coaching set up is not working and hasn't since 2019. The NZRU can't rely upon "we believe in this group and what we are doing". Sorry, you've had three years.
I'd like to see SC more assertive and I'd really like to see some aggro. Start smashing c*nts. If SA get away with shit, point it out, get in the refs ear or do it ourselves.

Once again I'll have to build up to watching, so painful
His shrill narration? Yeah agreed.

Half that video is shit from Havili.
Can't promise that Tupaea or RTS would have been better but they can't have been much worse.
Although this Squid dick thinks he's funnier than fuck (but isn't), and always fails to analyse the weaknesses in the winning team or the poor reffing, you can take some of his snippets as correct.
I'm not for one minute blaming everything on Havili but he clearly isn't up to this level.
Most off the problems with him are connection ones with Rieko. Hooking Rieko and putting Tupaea at 13 won't fix that.
I would actually be of the mind to drop RTS in at 12 just to have a pairing that may not place us under pressure on our own ball.
To play this style really does call for well organised heads like Goodhue and ALB. Their absence really doesn't help matters at all. -
@His-Bobness Nice to see you Bob. Takes a few disasters to bring the old boys out of the woodwork!
I thought you might have run with, "Any day now, any day now, I shall be released!"

If you think the main problem with the last ABs game is his voice, you really are disconected with reality!

Yes but were the Boks as good in training, before the game? That is where the coach really brings his learnings to bear.

I thought we're not allowed to question people's integrity or name call? I'm sure this guy is earning a shit load less than Foster for that privilege...

That doesn’t question his integrity. Name calling is ok. I don’t know his BMI so didn’t comment on that.

@Crucial always? You've watched all his videos?
Fails? That's very strong. Maybe that's not his job ..
We do have room for hyperbole here. Without it the threads would be short.
I just can't believe how you people act towards public figures.

If you can't take Squidge Rugby with a pinch of salt, I mean ... maybe lighten up a bit
Squidge is just a real rugby fan who never started it for the $$$, his early videos were hilarious and so edgy he got banned from using content, so he had to wind things back a lot
If you WANT proper tactical professional analysis read someone Nick Bishop on The Roar and especially pay a tiny amount for RugbyPass plus - I do. Seriously insightful guy https://www.rugbypass.com/plus/contributor/nick-bishop/
