The big dilemma for.mine is how do we got both Jordie and Jordan in the ABs. Jordie must have almost more touches then any other 15.
Reece-Jordie-Jordan has to be our back 3. Jordan has and will continue carve up on the wing, no need to shift him to FB when we don't have other great wing options and we already have a world class 15.
I am not sold on Reece. I think a big bolshy no. 11 is what we need.

I think Caleb Clarke has a higher ceiling than Reece and he plays left wing, unlike Reece or Jordan.
I agree but Clarke needs to play and find some form in Super rugby again after prioritising 7s over 15s. At the moment Reece is ahead of him.
Poor decision from Clarke to try 7's in hindsight.

Made up an offside line in general play
Nah he was right I think. Never onside from the ruck. The offside line doesn't disappear just because the ball emerges.
I think it was PK on first viewing.
It was turnover ball, Reds player ripped ball away before the ruck formed
Without conceding it wasn't a ruck, offside lines are created at a tackle now with one player on feet over ball.
OK thanks, makes sense in my head now 🙂

The first 15 minutes of this game show that my decision to stop watching live rugby is a good one.
What a fucking yawn. I didn’t sign in to hear you blow your fucking whistle every 5 seconds Angus.
The not straight from the Reds (directly before the tackle that led to a yellow) was criminal.

Holy fuck. The Canes are incredibly reliant on Jordie Barrett and and Ardie Savea. They just jump out as the players who drive the team so I had to look at the stats.
If you take out Sullivan’s intercept metres (he finished with 90 and looks like their next center), Savea and Barrett are the leading metre getters, and they both get an incredible amount of touches (Barrett: 12 passes, 19 runs; Savea: 12 passes, 15 runs). They are the only two players with more than 10 runs (Barrett: 50 metres, 1 clean beak, 5 defenders beaten, 7 offloads; Savea: 58 metres, I defender beaten, 1 offload) and are equally 3rd for passes (Perenara: heaps; Morgan: 13).
At minute 54 did @ACT-Crusader ’s ears prick up when you heard them talk about Ardie looking like a 12?
That became a reasonable watch once the Canes actually started getting their hands on the ball.

Yeah two of NZs best players, and totally carrying their team. Canes are ahead of Landers cos only one player is carrying them

@Machpants lol this is a pretty funny discussion. Of course you would centre most of your game plan around your two best players.
I.e Carter and McCaw for the Crusaders in the past, Smith and Smith for the Highlanders in years gone by. This ain’t new.
Ardie’s been dominant all year so the Canes would be stupid not to get the ball into his hands.
It’s not like other players didn’t contribute though, the likes of TK Howden had a storming game, PUJ & Sullivan were solid in the midfield, Perenara played the best game he has in a while.
-
Who was the number 20 who came on to the side of the scrums for the Hurricanes? Looked a solid lad.
-
@Crazy-Horse I think that was Caleb Delany
-
@Crazy-Horse TK Howden was listed at 20 on the team sheet. He played well for Manawatu in the NPC, and was in the NZ U20 squad.

@Tim I would be very happy for them to keep this midfield pairing going, they complement each other very well. Almost Nonu/Smith type.
PUJ runs hard and straight, it helped free up space for Sullivan
He still needs to work on his tackling a bit - he missed 4 according to ESPN.
I agree though, that a PUJ/Sullivan midfield looks the business.
I bet they’ve lost PUJ though.

@Frank You can have all the ceiling in the world but unless you perform you shouldn't be in the conversation. So many work-ons for Clarke, positioning, taking the high balls, kicking, putting people in space,.... No doubt he has some awesome strengths but at test level will he be a liability or an asset?
Odd post, nearly every wing in the frame has work ons. Bridge can't beat a man one on one, Reece's defence can disappear week to week. And as already noted he's been an asset at test level. Did you sleep through 2020?
