    Cudos to Julian Savea, I’m happy to hold my hand up as one of his baggers when he came back to NZ but he really has got himself in great nick. Awesome to see he’s enjoying his rugby again.

    Thought Morgan was very good tonite and Sullivan always a threat. Savea and Barrett the stars as always. But have the Reds backs ever played that badly before? Paisami Daugunu and Campbell coughed up a huge number of times between them. Well done Hurricanes with that fightback.

    The big dilemma for.mine is how do we got both Jordie and Jordan in the ABs. Jordie must have almost more touches then any other 15.

    Reece-Jordie-Jordan has to be our back 3. Jordan has and will continue carve up on the wing, no need to shift him to FB when we don't have other great wing options and we already have a world class 15.

    I think Caleb Clarke has a higher ceiling than Reece and he plays left wing, unlike Reece or Jordan.

    @antipodean Reece has played plenty of games on the left wing.

    This only ABs:
    3 starts at 11;
    13 starts at 14;
    1 one game from the bench (23).

    He's played more games on the left wing for the Crusaders. May have been when Bridge was injured.

    I agree but Clarke needs to play and find some form in Super rugby again after prioritising 7s over 15s. At the moment Reece is ahead of him.

    Fair enough, I simply can't recall him playing on the left wing. As it stands I consider him the preeminent right winger in New Zealand right now.

    @Frank You can have all the ceiling in the world but unless you perform you shouldn't be in the conversation. So many work-ons for Clarke, positioning, taking the high balls, kicking, putting people in space,.... No doubt he has some awesome strengths but at test level will he be a liability or an asset?

    He's proven at test level.
    One of the best players in his debut year.

    This was a strange game. Red easily the better side until Canes scored a lucky try. Then Canes took control. But if the Reds can play like they did in the first 30 mins for the full match they will win a few against NZ sides

    Barrett looked better at FB. Savea is proving a few doubters wrong (including me) . Goosen after a brilliant game against Pasifika was a bit ordinary. The midfield I hope they stick with next week. Still unsure about Morgan

    Ardie was great again. All in all hapy with the win after it looked a bit hopeless after the first 30mins

    Hes needs to focus on rugby (and not the 7s) instead of looking elsewhere

    Made up an offside line in general play

    Nah he was right I think. Never onside from the ruck. The offside line doesn't disappear just because the ball emerges.

    I think it was PK on first viewing.

    It was turnover ball, Reds player ripped ball away before the ruck formed

    Without conceding it wasn't a ruck, offside lines are created at a tackle now with one player on feet over ball.

    I am not sold on Reece. I think a big bolshy no. 11 is what we need.

    Poor decision from Clarke to try 7's in hindsight.

    I meant to add earlier, as someone who has been a critic of PUJ at times, I thought he went well last night. He and Sullivan looked ok in midfield.

    The first 15 minutes of this game show that my decision to stop watching live rugby is a good one.

    What a fucking yawn. I didn’t sign in to hear you blow your fucking whistle every 5 seconds Angus.

    The not straight from the Reds (directly before the tackle that led to a yellow) was criminal.
