But many on the Fern wanted Akira starting, Jordie at 15, Laumape at 12, Reiko on the wing and BB at 10 to see how he went.
He Listened. They lost. We blame Fozzie....
If only I actually posted my team...
You’d still have included the Daft Barrett though
But at blindside 😎

We can all pick your team to 98% accuracy anyway, it's just the random spot where there's no Crusader, Cantab, Ta$man, guy drove through Chch player available that we struggle with.

You know you need to be more specific.

I imagine he meant SB. JB did not do any clangers did he?

PS when DM can't dance sideways out of danger he's got nothing.

It would be good to revisit threads from the Chiefs Foster era. Bet we would see the same gripes we are seeing now. Selections, tactics, brain explosions would be common themes.

I remember them. You don’t forget the really good jokes. Oh how we laughed.
And yes to the rest.

Good point.
But it's a pretty new squad with a lot of retirements and we don't know how much say he had in team-building under Shag - particularly with the focus on RWC2019.
He got brownie points for the right selection for Bleds 2 & 3 so the jury is out for me
I don't see how that addresses and excuses wholesale changes? No problem with tinkering.
nah, I'm not going to slam him for changes. The schedule is a bit tough too - 2 weeks playing at home, a week off, three weeks in a row, a week off, and then the final game.
Playing five tests in six weekends is gruelling - you have to change sometime.
Right... and that's a reason to have someone different in every backline position than the previous week? The whole fucken backline! Including 8!
Isn't the 8 a 12?

At least Fozzie didn't call it "a development team"

Yes, but a Canes 9-10-12-15 combo, with ALB and a couple of wings. I thought they could go well if TJP could dish ou tsome good ball. Backline selections are hard though - having too many playmakers seems tough.
Laumape was really disappointing considering how good he was at Super. It's a real shame.
Am a fanboy. But yes he was not as good as hoped. Our 4th midfielder IMO

nah, that's the 15
Joking aside, though, I'd take Jordie over Ngani in Tests at 12 on curretn form

@Victor-Meldrew what did he call it? Like a Chiefs team of yore, just less polished?
-
@booboo said in The 'How is Fozzie going?' thread:
Quick thought about Ngani.
That was his first game back after about 6 months wasn't it?
Big ask.
Technically no. He got some time off the bench last week.

He looked very off colour. Definitely a better player than what we saw last night.

It would be nice to see him involved in a test match that wasn't a complete clusterfuck. I would expect that someone with such a big chip on his shoulder would make sure that what few opportunities he gets are taken and taken well. Thus far, he seems to have been a bit overawed by his major test match experiences.

they will see what he has got in training. We just don't see what happens behind the scenes - who's got the strength, reflexes, conditioning and aggression. Test matches can make good players look average (it happened to Nonu, amongst a long list).
I really hope he'll be back, has so much upside to his game
