    @voodoo yes perhaps too much focus on publicity and uploads to Instagram and Tik Tok. Maybe a week staying in some roach motels and cooking their own food would change this attitude.

    Can see why he tired new-ish players in Bled 4 - dead game so a good time to do it.

    Seemed to learn from Bled 1 so waiting to see what he learns from this loss. But am reserving judgement until after the 2 Argie games

    Thing is, you would have hoped he'd learned by now that wholesale changes very rarely work and most often turn to absolute shit. Isn't that supposed to be a benefit of continuity?

    Good point.

    But it's a pretty new squad with a lot of retirements and we don't know how much say he had in team-building under Shag - particularly with the focus on RWC2019.

    He got brownie points for the right selection for Bleds 2 & 3 so the jury is out for me

    I don't see how that addresses and excuses wholesale changes? No problem with tinkering.

    nah, I'm not going to slam him for changes. The schedule is a bit tough too - 2 weeks playing at home, a week off, three weeks in a row, a week off, and then the final game.

    Playing five tests in six weekends is gruelling - you have to change sometime.

    Right... and that's a reason to have someone different in every backline position than the previous week? The whole fucken backline! Including 8!

    @Bones

    I dunno. Perhaps he saw it as a chance to do a lot of tinkering in one hit. If there'd been fewer brain-farts and we'd won, would we be saying he was a genius who can make wholesale changes and still win?

    Yes, but a Canes 9-10-12-15 combo, with ALB and a couple of wings. I thought they could go well if TJP could dish ou tsome good ball. Backline selections are hard though - having too many playmakers seems tough.

    Laumape was really disappointing considering how good he was at Super. It's a real shame.

    @nzzp Add Savea at no.8 in that Hurricanes combo.

    You also had the Crusaders' hooker and locks. That made Taylor's fuck up in that lineout on halftime all the more disappointing. A try there and the game changes.

    @Victor-Meldrew We don't have dead rubbers where the ABs are concerned. Every single game counts and they are expected to go out and win each and every time they take the field no matter what. Never give a sucker an even break so the saying goes. Has Mark Robinson accepted his resignation offer yet?

    @Higgins

    But many on the Fern wanted Akira starting, Jordie at 15, Laumape at 12, Reiko on the wing and BB at 10 to see how he went.

    He Listened. They lost. We blame Fozzie....

    He didn’t read the Fern disclaimer about our accuracy, so still on him 😊

    Fozzie's obviously a consensus sort of bloke.

    Aha. Decision by committee usually ends well.

    do we lose without the RC though? That seemed a pretty inexperienced team, that didn't cope well with the loss of a man.

    I'm one who got it wrong - I thought Laumape was sucha remarkable player he'd transition into Tests nicely. Bah.
