Pretty shocked not to see Bender on the bench. No way on earth anyone can convince me that Jordie is a better option. Unless he is injured that is a real head scratcher.
That's just pig-headedness though when he is the best option.
Has Reiko played his last game for the AB's? (Barring injury to the incumbents)
Only if he follows his brother's example of how (not) to deal with disappointment and/or turns into a fatty.
Does that mean he may poke off overseas?
He has a contract with NZR through to 2022, so not any time soon.
lets face it he's only one game away from a QF knockout from new wingers spilling a load of high balls (that no one has tested them on yet) and he's 1st choice again..
Didn't the South Africans kick a fair bit in our first pool game?

Mounga and beauden will be under most of them with the pattern we've been playing, and Bridge is pretty good anyway.

Yeah. I thought we did fine. Let them give us the ball back and see where that gets them

No Ben Smith and no Crotty. Reminds me of no Doug Howlett in 07.....
Choosing form players over the more experienced ones has never worked has it.
I mean look at us picking Milner Skudder in 2015, and Kahui out of position on the wing in 2011 and then there's Dagg being picked ahead of Mils in 2011.
What were we thinking?

Wonder if the "tackling" played a part in as to why SBW benched and not starting

well it's interesting right - when they beat us they never gave us the ball.. so will they go to the high ball - giving us the potential to counterattack...
guessing that due to the forecast for pissing down then they'll defo biff some up..

Crotty is in better form than Goodhue.

What's this, you are saying we should be picking on form now?

Experience and form are not mutually exclusive.

Really want Aussie to get up for this one Perth-style, think England will be a tough SF opponent (if we beat Ire) if they're high on confidence from winning well.
I just want all our Southern neighbors to beat the UK teams. And of course I think we have a better chance against Aus than England. I'd love to see them pull out a Perth game.
What about Ireland? You didn't mention them.....just the UK teams....🤔
Because everyone just thinks you're British
Must be the whinging...

Yeah, if we don't manage to win this match, there will be many parallels drawn with 2007:
- underdone lock (a la Keith Robinson), although it would be a very small person to criticise Brodie’s selection;
- largely untested midfield combo (see McAlister and Mils);
- dropping an experienced midfielder (Crotty = Mauger) and outside back (BFA = Howlett)
- backline players out of position (Beauden = Mils); and
- lack of experience on the bench, especially in the backline (Jordie = Toeava)...
Only thing missing is a fullback playing centre!

I reckon Jordie's selection betrays some concern about Reece's ability under the high ball. With JB on the bench, they can defuse the aerial threat, but still maintain some of the dangerous attacking ability (which they will lose a lot of with BFA's current form). If JB needs to come and rescue Reece, I can see BFA playing a semi and final (should we make it that far)

So Dane Coles as impact.
I think this is the best use of Taylor and Coles now. Coles provides the better impact.
I would prefer our best hooker play the most minutes, I don't think Taylor has been performing at his usual high standards this year.
Would also prefer a tighter loose forward still than having three 7s in the team. Puts up his anti Cantab shield.
Yeah, I'd like to have the option of upping the physicality if required by having Patty T on the bench in place of Todd

Don't recall Reece being kicked to at all, but do recall Bridge being out-jumped by Colby at least once (perhaps more). To be fair, his own good kick chase did lead to Le Roux spilling a high-ball, which then initiated the attack that led to our opening try.

What time is the game jap time ?
