Victor Matfield in the video said when he played the All Blacks they always had guys thay were bigger and faster athletes in the backs and he said that wasn't the case with last weekends team.
I think he has a point.
But I also think that the inclusion of Clarke and Ioane change the backline dynamic from last week.
I alluded to it in a previous post a few days back.
When you are lining up for the haka and you are looking across at Beaudy, ALB, DMAC, TJP for example you arent fearing for your safety.
Even when we used to lose a game the opposition had a tough day at the office.
Not so much now. We are a nice bunch of lads. Picking opponents up off the turf. Media trained to the nines. Nice skin fades. Nice boots. Sanitised.
I sound Jurassic but it's true.
There are no nasty bastards in the team.
All fur coat and no knickers.
I remember when James O'Connor first made the Wallabies, I thought to myself that a kid like that would never make it in NZ rugby - not big enough, not powerful enough.
Only a few short years later and we had both D Mac and R Mounga as central cogs in our team and we are looking more and more like the Wallabies teams that O'Connor played in.
hold up... 2008 to 2023 is few short years later? O'Connor's debut was 2008!
And we'd had the similar sized DC at 10 for a few years.
Posters seem to be going out of their way to put round pegs into square holes these days.

What attack is that?
ABs tend to thrive on attacking rugby in the wet to be fair, could have an effect on the Argies though.... hopefully.

I'm really not sure what to think going into this game because we haven't looked convincing in any of Razor's tests so far, it feels that something is bound to give, as every aspect of the AB's game this year (other than our defense prior to last week) has been a significant backwards step from 2023 under Schmidt. I think we're either going to win convincingly or go down like a bunch of limp dicks again.

Steady on. He's played the might of Wales and Georgia.

On Lord - he has all the physical attributes but lacks co-ordination and appetite to put them all together. On the other hand, IWL is similar, but it appears something has clicked in his brain this year, he was one of the better Canes giong round in SR. I would like to see him at least given a shot at higher honors. And who knows - with the Razof influence he may excel.

Finn Russell is disproportionally large round the guts to be fair.
I think my favour large first five would be the old mate Henry Honiball. What a player he was

Harry Plummer is the only NZ 10 that is of similar build and physicality to Pollard.

And McKenzie and Mounga both debuted in 2017, less than 10 years later.
