Disappointed with the team.
Perfect opportunity to start Williams, Newell, Blackadder, Hotham and bring Bell off the bench.
Not to mention recall David Havilii.
No. He’s timing his run ready for a recall for the Boks tour…

Great stuff. He’ll have learnt from the ragdolling last time he played them and be better for it.

@MN5 Actually, we won 35-23 and Dave scored what proved to be the match winning try!
Good point, it was the much lauded Jordie Barrett who did an Andrew Merhtens like tackle attempt on Andre Esterhuizen the last time the ABs played the Boks.
Put your money on a Havili recall.

Happy to see the constituency in selection.

My only concern is that the team we've picked is a little short on power. The best way to counter the rushed defence is to keep winning the collisions.
winning the collision against a rush defence still means contact behind the gain line generally, theyre obviously looking to beat the rush with speed

Where are all the crusaders players. So bullshit that he’s picking the best players available. Thought he would sneak a few average crusaders in there.
-
@chchfanatic As above - Leon is pulling the strings in the Mako-isation of the All Blacks.
He's cleverly got Agent Reece and Agent Telea installed on the wings and no-one has noticed. He's even got @Tim going "Yeah - Go Harbour!".
Noah Hotham and Quin Strange for the EOYT.
Frizell and Big Leicester back for 2025.
Ben O'Keefe refereeing all the matches.
TJ and Joe Wheeler doing the commentary.
Everything played at NZ's latest Test venue Trafalgar Park.
Should all come to culmination about 2035 when our careful breeding programme puts young Mako Carter into the hotseat.

Because we need Havili's physicality...

Too many to choose from so he just gave up? 🎣

Genuinely surprised at the aversion to a visible shot clock. If we are worried about time wasting then just shorten the time on the clock. Why wouldn’t we want a single source of truth, visible to all parties? I used to kick, and having a ref in my ear telling me “20 seconds” then “10 seconds” sounds bloody annoying.
Yeah true, seems much easier to break your concentration to turn and look at a shot clock.
I don't see any great aversion to it, it just seems very unnecessary. But I can understand the desire for it when one AB kicker fell foul of timekeeping once, in one game.
Give them a clock, make it short, and stop the match clock. We should reduce time wasting and maximise time in play.

I doubt Waterloo station could handle the crowds...

Pretty much as expected with minimal change - though I expect a lot of people always calling for radical change will be disappointed.
Only worry for me is Christie starting but there's really no other option - hope Ratima gets some reasonable game time.
Is Clarke still injured?

Yes. Ribs aren’t an easy injury to overcome quickly
