    no specialist 15 really. 10/15s and a 12/15.

Eh? Beaudy has only started once at 1st 5 in the last 20 test matches, but 12 times at fullback.

For me he is a better fullback than 1st 5 these days.

    He's still a 10/15, and named in the 10s.

So just to be clear: The team that couldn't make a finals series of top eight in a 12 team competition has more All Blacks than the team that won?

They won how many in a row?

All the crusaders haven't turned to poo because their coach has.

(Not supporting the Bell pick though)

So form means nothing. Got it.

Only if last year you wanted the ABs to be largely Crusaders, by your same logic.

A couple of Blues had very ordinary form in super last year but were still picked. Now it's the crusaders turn.

A starting loose trio of Finau, Papali’i and Savea for England 1 could do the business

You know he's going to start Blackadder.

They better have a quality sub for when he shatters into pieces...

    if you add in

Love, Darry, Bower and Havili. Its (I hope - need to check when time)

    Blues 9
    Crusaders 9
    Chiefs 9

Canes who were top qualifier have 7 (inc Love)

So, some obvious bias on Robertsons part. Will he be as bad as Deans for example? Time will tell

To be fair to Razor this is his first match and has erred on the side of caution.

Up to a point. The Perofeta and Blackadder selections smack of sticking to players hoping they come right/won't get injured rather than conservative selections.

Is EB even fit? He had the perfect excuse to sit him for now, but chose to put the acid on him right from the go

Blackadder showed enough in the games he played. One of the most effective forwards in the comp. On form.

Don’t you mean John “14 Crusaders in the starting line up” Mitchell ?

    Loosies seem a bit unbalanced

Dalton, Jacobson and Blackadder all play best at 7

Wonder if they are eyeing up Sititi as 6 option

Razor taking the piss; They’ve earned their places through performance and consistency. Unless it's a catchall statement where he means some earned it through consistently poor performances.

Well, I've been asking myself: "How good is EB and how does he stack up against other players?".

And the big issue is we don't have a clue as we haven't seen him play enough rugby.

thats a laughable take, the blues were still 3rd last year....so their ordinary form was still miles better than the crusaders this year

They must back themselves to get the best out of Perofeta.

He's a place-holder in the squad until Jordan returns. BB will start at fullback against England, and take that 10/15 cover role later in the year.

So when Blackadder injures himself in the first five mins of the first test, I hope Lakai has his bags packed.

    Nepo Laulala
    Ofa Tu’ungafasi
    Dalton Papali’i
    Finlay Christie
    Beauden Barrett
    Rieko Ioane
    Caleb Clarke
    Mark Telea

Which of those had a legitimately better player miss out? Keep in mind I think Laulala offered zero outside of his scrummaging, but if you wanted a rock in that regard I could see why he was picked.

@Canes4life the only thing I’ll say about Perofeta is that he was playing excellent footy under Rangi last season and given he has AB experience I think they will back themselves to try and get that best out of him.

That's a reach. He was playing about the same as he was this season (when he wasn't injured) and his test experience is fuck all. A japan test where he looked poor and 30 seconds in another test

Leon McDonald was the outside back selector, Perofeta over Love was obviously his call & it's the only selection of the 32 that I disagree with - which isn't surprising because McDonald's selections at the Blues were consistently terrible.
