Besides the game in 99 where there Wallabies won by 21, and 1998 in general, not many of those games were the equivalent of 40+ point embarrassments.

World Cups aside, the ABs have an almost ridiculous winning percentage. -

Some of the handling tonight, even when they didn't score (like just after halftime) was just frighteningly good, esopecially when you go back and realise it was the fucking fatties doing it not the flash harry backs like you initially though watching it on a dodgy Sky UK internet feed

Its disappointing how poor Aust is now. They would make a good super rugby squad but not much more

I said before that NZ B could beat them. This though would be a good game but I would still back the B's. Test between NZ and Aust as with most NZ / Aust super rugby clashes are becoming boring now.

this is bad news for NZ rugby. maybe we could help them with some coaching advise. Maybe someone like Plumtree coudl be sent across to help out.
-
Great to see Read the psycho back again.

Congrats Hames, put in a good shift too.

Thought Cane warmed into the game, the motor on him is almost as good as Richie. Made some great carries too.

Dagg had a poor game for him, seemed just one of those days when things would just go wrong.

Thought Fekitoa was MUCH better. His defence was exceptional, made a few errors with the ball as usual but also handled it a lot more I thought and made a lot more good decisions than usual. Showed quite a few nice touches I thought, in a few scoring movements. -

Closeish. -

I agree with you Bones, I thought Fekitoa very good, a couple of errors but overall a very strong performance. I am still not convinced about Dagg and having Ben Smith wasted on the wing but I guess Naholo's injury gives Dagg another lifeline. Backrow and second row were outstanding. BB can't do much wrong these days. -
Some interesting comments from Cheika post game.

" Cheika was most disappointed with his side’s poor defence, which missed 31 tackles - a reflection of the lack of mental toughness in the team last night."

“I don’t think it’s about changing everything, it’s about getting the focus clearly on what’s important,†Cheika said.

“I take responsibility for that, the mental preparation, that’s my domain and I’ve got to make sure the players are switched on to what is in focus"

“And that’s why you would see me being very down, because I feel like I’ve let them down because I haven’t put them into a space where they’re going to do whatever it takes, especially around defence."

And what space did you put them in? Any side playing the AB will focus on D.

Does Cheika really believe it's just mental? He had a month to focus on what's important. Defence and perhaps a functioning lineout.

Perhaps a rugby coach is needed not a psychiatrist. -

Hilarity. Me favourite part was the rugby we played straight after halftime. We didn't score, but it looked like we were playing a club side we were that dominant.

Are you implying,NTA, that it is rare that you can catch up with friends?
As a fan lows come with the territory and in fact improve it. Just as long as not too low!!
You may enjoy Kearns on scrummaging in second half. He's got his own personal overhead camera screen.

Half a screen ... the other half is wasted as he never looks st thst side ... -

Fox guys made comparisons with Sir Richard when he was walking off. Kind of looked a bit like Richie then too... -

Bit of a dodgy tighthead with Cane hooking in the tunnel - but it was a shambles of a scrum from Australia. -
Fuck. Usually you can point out a a weakness or two in a game and yell for a change of personnel or coaching staff. Not this time. Only watched the first half and I am almost sure my club side today could have given a better run for their money.

There is absolutely nothing to lose from now on, so I would suggest maybe bringing those young guns, Hodge, Kerevi and Timani in to the 23 and dropping either of the hobbits from the back row to get some size in the side.

Who was the fucker who predicted the Wobs would win? :hi: :embarrassed: -

Good summary of Fekitoa and in general.

Not necessarily a Fekitoa fan but tonight he did the business and the reason Kuridrani was shite was because the pressure place on him by Fekitoa .... and others.

The Aussies were awful. When I saw the pack that they named their was nothing to fear. It had no resemblance to the packs that the Tahs have put up recently that had a bit of bash to them. Why is Simmons still being selected? Surely one of those Brumbies locks could produce more. I would put in Skelton for 40 just for a bit of mongrel and mass. Their back three were dominated and we cleaned then out before they had a sniff at a turnover. The 2 7's experiment is a bust. They need a real 6 in place to add some physicality. Possibly time to start rebuilding for the future because there is little future in the players they have.

Unless the Boks can give us a game I think the rugby championship is going to be a yawn.
