I would suggest none of us know who the best coach is, we haven't been coached by them, and to be honest, from what I have read on posts, most are looking at results only. Not a lot seem to think coaching at different levels requires usually different skills, from what I have seen most have got their knowledge from reading opinions of other posters or so called press.
I have to say I find it hard to disagree with Mariner4life about how arrogant some so called AB supporters appear to be, an awful lot seem to know a lot more about requirements of top level coaches than the people actually talking to and involved in the process of appointing coaches, a lot seem to get an awful lot of knowledge sitting on their arses in whatever part of the world they are in!
Can we quote you on this if you ever say anything in the future about any part of rugby in which you are not personally an acknowledged expert?
In fact, why be on a sports forum at all if you think people expressing their views about sport is "arrogant"?
Me, I'm going to stick to having opinions, in the good knowledge that sometimes I will be wrong.
I've been coached by Rennie so he's clearly the best.

I can't believe people have the energy to keep this up every day. Pace yourself. You'll need that energy once Schmit is announced as coach.

You forgot the big ticket assistant.
I hope it's Rachel Riley.

Was that when you were marking Cory Jane ?

Don't be daft. We all know if we'd beaten England and got to the final and/or won it, it would be despite Foster. Foster's only ever involved when things go badly.
I know you are taking the piss, but I would reverse it.
When things have gone really badly recently, Foster has been involved.
Our best performances last year do seem to be when others have been able to gain some control.
Edit: I have gone from disliking Foster, through despising him, to outright hating what he has done. I may no longer be entirely objective. I no longer care.

I go along with Mariner, you obviously need help, to hate someone you don't know and then to boast publicly about it screams of either needing help, or a 5yo kid has your log in details.

Imagine the training needed when Joe appoints Foster as Assistant coach.

If that happens I'll make the rest of this thread look like a warm up.

In all seriousness though I'd be really happy if Schmidt got the role, he's my preferred candidate.

Yes he did a great job with Ireland and left there a winner. He also a very charismatic fellow.
PS I was sure you were trolling. But now I'm not sure. In any event, I would have no issue if they ditched Foster for him just for 2023.

I didn't actually say I hate Foster. I said I hate what he has done (to the ABs).
He seems an amiable man, as a person.
Edit, probably should have also made it clear dislike and despise what he has done.

Schmidt was also my preferred candidate in 2019, but 4 years have passed since then and after the debacle of 2022 if NZR have any integrity they should reward Razor's loyalty.
He was mucked around last year, he was given assurances of the job, he would've gone overseas already if those assurances weren't genuine.
He's clearly been told something - as he's stuck around despite what happened last year, so if NZR value integrity they will appoint him.
