There is no way with the talent they have the Blues should lose a game like that. Is the players or the coaches? Same weaknesses in ABs. In ability to play % and apply pressure. They played their best rugby with 13 when they held the ball.
Same coach killing players that are in the ABs.
But hey, it’s Foster that wrecks them and Rangi will join Razor to put things right……
Try to keep your bitterness to the Foster/Robertson thread you love so much.
Why. It’s a valid observation. Nothing bitter.
When talking AB failings the coach gets the blame.
The same players have just aired their failings in this game at a lower level under a supposedly better coach.
Maybe it’s a pointer to where some of the problems lie?No, it just proves Rangi's not in the same league as Razor, Leon has developed a star-studded team with such depth that players are attracted to the Blues to merely hold tackle bags yet despite these extraordinary riches in talent they still get by picked-apart by Razor's tactics when it counts.
Yesterday Rangi's Blues looked as they did in the Grand final last season - soft, error-prone, and lacking a coherent plan. If the opposition doesn't hand it to them then they don't seem to know how to win. Leon still hasn't anything in 5 seasons with a core of excellent squad retained & it's quality of depth improved each season, and there's also been very little defections making his job a lot easier.
If the All Blacks don't hire Razor the Blues should back up the truck for the superior coach.
So why does Razor rate him high enough to be an assistant (if the stories are true?)
assistant coach requires a different set of skills than that of a head coach.

Plenty of AB player failings from Razor's mob as well. How long has he had Ennor? How long did he not improve the line breaking ability of Bridge?
Why would Razor be blamed for the physical limitations of individual players?
The goal is to make the team greater than the sum of it's parts, by implementing a gameplan that utilizes his player's skill-sets in the most optimal way.
Razor has won titles while getting the best out of players like Bridge, Ennor, Havili.
-
@kiwi_expat question....why are you SO determined that everyone accept Razor is the second coming and our one true lord, people aren't even allowed to mention good qualities other coaches have without quickly being compared to Razor,
are you capable of accepting that others have a variety of opinions, some of us thing Razor is probably the best but that gulf between him and other might not be as huge as you believe....other think he's not even the best option

Not my point at all.
Not even a slight on Razor.
There are some players that seem to be the best in their position that we have that are very capable of having crap games at both levels.
Is it any wonder that the ABs have been struggling -

I would suggest none of us know who the best coach is, we haven't been coached by them, and to be honest, from what I have read on posts, most are looking at results only. Not a lot seem to think coaching at different levels requires usually different skills, from what I have seen most have got their knowledge from reading opinions of other posters or so called press.
I have to say I find it hard to disagree with Mariner4life about how arrogant some so called AB supporters appear to be, an awful lot seem to know a lot more about requirements of top level coaches than the people actually talking to and involved in the process of appointing coaches, a lot seem to get an awful lot of knowledge sitting on their arses in whatever part of the world they are in!
Can we quote you on this if you ever say anything in the future about any part of rugby in which you are not personally an acknowledged expert?
In fact, why be on a sports forum at all if you think people expressing their views about sport is "arrogant"?
Me, I'm going to stick to having opinions, in the good knowledge that sometimes I will be wrong.
I've been coached by Rennie so he's clearly the best.

I can't believe people have the energy to keep this up every day. Pace yourself. You'll need that energy once Schmit is announced as coach.

You forgot the big ticket assistant.
I hope it's Rachel Riley.

Was that when you were marking Cory Jane ?

Don't be daft. We all know if we'd beaten England and got to the final and/or won it, it would be despite Foster. Foster's only ever involved when things go badly.
I know you are taking the piss, but I would reverse it.
When things have gone really badly recently, Foster has been involved.
Our best performances last year do seem to be when others have been able to gain some control.
Edit: I have gone from disliking Foster, through despising him, to outright hating what he has done. I may no longer be entirely objective. I no longer care.

I go along with Mariner, you obviously need help, to hate someone you don't know and then to boast publicly about it screams of either needing help, or a 5yo kid has your log in details.

Imagine the training needed when Joe appoints Foster as Assistant coach.

If that happens I'll make the rest of this thread look like a warm up.

In all seriousness though I'd be really happy if Schmidt got the role, he's my preferred candidate.
