I don't know. If those girls from Taranaki are part of the Barrett clan, they would probably go close to winning.

I don't care what Beauden Barrett did last year (well I do, but that is irrelevant to this conversation). My point wasn't that Jordie is going to be better than Beauden, or that Beauden is a bad player. My point is that at this level, in my opinion, Jordie looks to be the better player. People have noticed this, and have been talking about him because of his ability, not his name.

If you put Jonah Lomu and Richie McCaw with a bunch of U7 girls from Taranaki, they would not beat Ireland, but this hardly reflects on the quality of Lomu and McCaw. Evaluating their quality solely on the loss would be rather silly.

Shit we're in trouble if our best under 20 players are only as good as U7 girls then. The 2020's are already shaping up badly for AB fans.

Nothing is ever obvious on the fern but you've cleared up my fears......I was on the Lydia Ko/Americas Cup/Steven Adams bandwagon but I'll jump off and support the ABs again.

I got burnt by Bleyendaal when watching him at age group level and he looked to be the next Carter, remember he had an astounding boot too. Then he turned fucking awful considering. I'll never see it the same again at age group...

A real life burn or a fern burn ? I don't think the latter really counts or else none of us would show up.....

If it's any consolation I'm still waiting for Koula Tukino, Dominic Feaunati and/or Roy Kinikinilau to become the next Jonah.......

Fern burns hurt the most. Especially when everyone else starts "liking" the burn. It can be psychologically devastating.

There wouldn't be a poster (regular that is) that's predicted someone would be a star/AB and turned out to be a 'Meh'.

While we're confessing, mine was Angus MacDonald. I thought he would be a regular AB and even push to be a leader....

I remember thinking Rudi Wulf was going to be the real deal when i first saw him,

Cant remember exactly why , I think i thought as a winger he had a bit of class about him

Mine was Telusa Veainu. I still think he could have been if he got more opportunities, though. Seemed to do well over in the UK and for Tonga.

I had a bit of man love for Hayden Pedersen. Sadly I forgot to think about the fact he was an absolute midget. Also there was his off field anger issues and his propensity to hit random people on the piss. My other man love is finally coming to fruition, with Elliot Dixon, I have been pumping him since U20s... I even said to friends before the final last year, that if he has a MOM performance then we will win. Oh and yip, I was also a fan of another midget Otago outside back, thinking Glen Horton could be an All Black.

I think those with any man love for Richard Buckman will be similarly disappointed.
