You reckon Carter was tearing up defences in the first 30?He had usually plotted three penalties, two of which were pretty tough.

How is that tearing up defences?

@pukunui I was thinking the same thing regarding BB at 15, it was a pity Cruden didn't hang around and see if he could regain form and fitness, those two in tandem and in form would cut teams to pieces, well TBF BB is cutting the Wallabies to pieces on his own, but it would have been nice.

@stargazer is a balancing act getting the development right (which includes playing in high intensity games) vs playing the best team without burning them out.
PLenty were critical of the Cartels inability to devlop a good back up for DC in 2011, whereas I thought they had been, was just none were really up to it, and TBF, we ended up coping (just)
RM will get plenty of chances pre2019, as will Dmac, short of a 2011 injury ward striking, they will serve us well

If you can't tear up the defence in the first 30 minutes at least be putting points on the board in other ways.

given Cane has had alsmot as many head knocks as Crotty, maybe we need to look at leaving him out for a period too?
So that slots Savea firmly in the drivers seat (looked a bit more physical than normal last night too, although against a beaten Wallaby pack) but who is the next 7 off the ranks?

Last year Hunt played for the AB's (vs French xv) and Gibson was called up to train with the squad. Gibson has barely played this year though so Hunt would be most likely

There’s some young tyro from the Crusaders. Todd or something. He might be worth a look.

Dude, I was responding to a post of how BB can't breach defences in the early stages of a game.
I will fully agree about the goal kicking but that wasn't being discussed.
Actually, BB's kicking in general play was mostly pants for the Canes this year but was outstanding yesterday. Was great to see.

I mistook you point, apologies. While both Carter and Barrett hardly lit up a defence in first half, Carter was far more effective in the grand scheme of things in the first 40 minutes - that was my point. Much of the frustration with Barrett at test level is while waiting for the defence to break down in the second half - he isn't terribly constructive or authoritative in the first.
That said Beauden was effective off the bench in the second half through 2014/5 that I'd probably refuse to name an all time AB XV on principle that Beaudy should be 16 (and SBW 17).

@stargazer Yeah I get that but between Harris, Coltman, Dixon, Parsons, Funnell etc there isn't a hell of a lot of difference so it doesn't really matter who they pick tbh.

Krustys furious apparently . I reckon what he needs to kickstart the wallabies is a catchy slogan for the boys , something like "Make Australia Great Again" or abbreviate it to " MAGA" when they put it on hats for supporters. That should help their profile over there.
They need a packed. Its a bit like aura, she's very strong and wins games.

Don't really mind packed. Poor man's aura.

@booboo spellings/grammar has never been my strong point. That said neither was my rugby in my playing days
