@SynicBast I mentioned a little while ago that our four front line props as a combination are excellent. They hit the line at speed and tackle with real venom. And it's now expected that they do it week in week out. And they do.

I juts remember Crockett used to get slammed a lot in here, and some of the mud seemed to stick in obscuring his good work

Really, Read? What an anti-climax of an ending.

Most of the criticism was the scrum. He has always been good around the park.

Port Elizabeth 2011 is a good one to look at for your conspiracy theories.

I'll give it a look. Pretty sure there are some YouTube clips labelled "WORLD RUGBY CONSPIRES AGAINST ALL BLACKS!" for around that time?

Well the score blew out, but for the vast majority of that Test I'd say the better team wore canary yellow. With that team, playing like that, they could get a Grand Slam in Nov.

Nobody covered themselves in glory after that, particularly Mr Owens.

Weird how you can be so unsatisfied with a 27 point win. Didn't enjoy that at all.

Final score 37-10 to the good guys. Disappointing game, the forwards were rubbish for the first 50 odd minutes. All the subs seemed to make some great impact.

Looking forward to Chieka whinging about one try being disallowed, even though they lost by 27 points (and would've lost by more if Barrett could kick worth a damn).

It's amazing how something as simple as a forward pass totally befuddles the entire rugby world every few test matches

Imagine if we had... oh, I don't know... say someone like Aaron Smith in the match day 23.

Why? So he could have been rag dolled on defense because his forwards were shit?

You don't think he'd have been a handy bench option about now?

My apologies. I thought you meant instead of TJP who I thought had being having a big match on defense just when it needed it..as a replacement, yes, agreed. A Smith running on would be awesome.

I was deliberately vague with my matchday 23 wording 🙂

Was thinking he'd have been a handy option to run on at the time!

Well, there's my 38-point margin gone. Slackers.

The number of errors on attack gave the ABs every chance to counter, and our transition to defence wasn't good enough.

Fortunately, not a lot of the NH teams we're facing have the same skillset that this AB team has. The number of offloads that just stuck when they needed them to is uncanny, and down (no doubt) to the sheer number of errors we made through passing too early or too slow... man... It is pretty to watch, when I can take my eyepatch off for the replays.

@antipodean said in All Blacks v Wallabies at Eden Park.:

Also I don't know what the TMO was thinking.

Actually, what burns me more at this point was Nige's reffing of the mauls. It was very harsh to start, and then just plain weird to finish.

ABs had one come to ground, and before they even got it moving, he's calling them "ONCE!" which is weird, because they hadn't even had time to set.

Then at the end, when the game was gone, he let the Wallabies stop at least three times before calling "ONCE!", and then gave us a ruck penalty we probably didn't deserve in the same couple of minutes.

    Was Coles MOTM?

Thought we aimed up, and played the way anyone SHOULD play against the ABs: pound them in close. Our deftness out wide was pretty nice, though again a couple of those early/late offloads just don't stick for us because our speed of thought - probably down to fitness - just isn't there.

It was good to at least see our pigs hammering home some good work. But we gave away a couple of tries with sloppy work out wide, and you're going to pay for that anywhere in NZ or against NZ.

Cheika's presser is going to be interesting.

    I enjoyed that.

And then will move on to list the negatives .....

Our defence was as soft as custard it seemed. Around the rucks especially.

Worst ive seen our 2 locks play. BBBR especially ineffective in defence.

Gods knows how that ends up a 27 point margin.

Best I've seen Folau in ages.

Niggly game again, midway first half Whitelock and TJP seemed too distracted by the niggle.
