    Well yeah he had an operation where much of his large intestine was removed. Quite the rage apparently. He looks pretty good now.<br />

    If you want to look at things the other way i.e. atheletes that have lost weight since they retired, look no further than Dean Lukan. Aussie that won superheavyweight gold at the LA olympics. He looks above a third of his former size.

    Like RedBull my fatbusting started a couple of weeks before the offiical TSF one, so the stats are: <br />

    Height: 5'8'' (that ain't gonna change)<br />

    Need to get right back into the saddle as a week in Hong Kong followed by a weekend at Singapore Sevens meant lager consumption was way up; eating of healthy (or any) food for that matter was way down and exercise was dominated by repetiive elbow bending but little calorie burning. Here I farking well come, fatbusting............. :whistle:

    32.99 so the BMI is bs all ends up coz I'm as out of shape as I've ever been. I also appear to have discovered a new body shape.  I'm neither pear or apple - more like 40 gallon drum.

    Also, if you look at the food they recommend there's quite a bit of "real" food too. But the name of the site should give you a clue, bodybuilding.com, you can't body build without suppliments - unless you have a stomach that can handle five whole chickens a day.<br />

    If you are not body building you can skip the ads and look at the meal suggestions and the workouts. There's also plenty of tips about the whole fat loss side of things.<br />
    <br />
    The information on the metabolism is interesting just on it's own.

    always leave some food on your plate when you finish your meal.  Heard something like that somwehere.  Is meant to help you not over eat, especially if you were bought up in the 'eat all your food up' era, as most of us mid 30 somthings.

    At the higher beeps yes, but you don't need to for the early ones. Get in front, take any breather you can. Push off from the start do the first few steps quick, then you can slow down. And slowing down is beneficial for you on the later beeps as it makes it easier to turn, you'll bugger your knee or ankle trying to do the turns at full pace.

    Yes, followed a programme for a while doing just that - three days a week, one each day you would cane one exercise heavy heavy and low low reps, other two exercise just heavy and mid low reps.<br />

    ALmost killed you, but was awesome, Imiss all that mad headed rugby training!  Used to train with my prop, who was bigger and stronger than me - each time I would catch up in the weights department he'd pull ahead again.  Everyhwere but deadlift - would beat him there, legs pretty equal, chest he was too much!!

    Re Oils. A lot of people in NZ badly lack the essential Omega 3 fatty acids (esp DHA and EPA). This can be obtained by eating a lot of raw fish but a high quality fish oil supplement is probably something to be considered. But it can be hard to find a decent one, and until recently every one I tried caused me grief.  [url="http://www.xtend-life.com"]www.xtend-life.com[/url] (a NZ company) is one that seems high quality and is higher in DHA, and is worth considering. <br />
    <br />
    Also Omega 6 GLA from Borage (starflower) oil is also something worth taking.<br />
    <br />
    Otherwise take a high quality olive oil. Getting enough of these good oils might stop the cravings for fatty rubbish food. <br />
    <br />
    Other do's  (but change slowly and don't switch to food that you don't enjoy eating)<br />
    <br />
    Consider trying a blood type diet. Type O = lots of meat  <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /><br />
    <br />
    Reduce (or eliminate) fried food. This is much easier with a good intake of healthy oil. And with a fish oil supplement and olive oil this should be enough. Some NZ companies also produce excellent Flax and Avacado oils so take these also if you enjoy the taste.<br />
    <br />
    Change to healthy salt.<br />
    <br />
    Reduce wheat. For example change to spelt or rye rather than wheat (mainly because wheat is very hard for humans to break down according to books I have read, and can clog the intestines.)<br />
    <br />
    Drink lots of water.  Buy a good water filter. Not a jug filter although they are better than nothing. I also don't like bottled water but some disagree.<br />
    <br />
    Reduce intake of coffee, soft drinks etc<br />
    <br />
    Eat healthy food. eg organic or free range chicken rather than the cheaper stuff.<br />

    Dairy products might be bad for some people. <br />

    Have the same issue with the bike - the motion for exercise machines is different to propelling yourself along the grass. To that end I've resolved that once per week I head to the local oval in appropriate footy gear and do some running and a bit of work e.g. throwing lineouts at the goal post, kicking practice off the tee and a few punts. Bought a bike pump last week with a gauge on it, and decided since it came with a needle to inflate the Gilbert XT500 to appropriate pressure now that I had something to measure it with. The damn thing is so tight at 10psi I think its going to explode the first time I put the boot to it... or break my ankle :nta
