Despite a disappointing defeat today I would not be surprised if we beat Australia next weekend

Fiji playing much better than last week, Wales are in a really dark place right now.
Helps when they're allowed their players.
Their choice to play outside the Test window
It is, but it's also a reason for their improvement.
Sorry that doesn't make sense
Well they weren't allowed their top side last week (due to it being outside the international window as you mentioned). Today, they were, and their performance was obviously a lot better than last weeks showing. This is in reference to jailbreak's post.

Same. Australia very rarely put 2 good performances together these days, and will go into this game with a bit of expectation.
Will be a close on either way. England struggled to slow Australia's ball, Wales will put a major focus on it and try and force the Aussies to play with static ball, make things messy at breakdown I feel. If they can do that, I think they're a big chance.

Seriously not gloating but fuck me, you lot are in a dark place atm. Potential record breaking losing streak and likely looking at a calendar year of losses. Not seen since 1937 (3 games). Domestic game all over the place.
Hats off to Gatland for taking that poisoned chalice and more so for sticking with it.
It’s tough to be an England fan currently, but you boys are doing it tough.

Thanks lads
I’m not as disheartened
We could and should have won that if we’d done what Gatland had asked of us
If we’d fluffed our lines because of intense Fijian pressure then I could accept our failings
But this was all about poor decisions and poor execution
Those calling for Gatland to quit are deluded
If he doesn’t jettison Costello then they have a case
Second run trying to execute Garland’s plan could be very different

It's pretty dire at the moment.
On Gats, I wouldn't feel too sorry for him - we're paying him 580k a year. He was a world class coach a decade ago but don't think anyone else would be stupid enough to pay him anywhere near that money these days but the WRU aren't too clever.
I admire Mike's optimism but we'll have to improve immeasurably to get anywhere near Australia next week.

I haven’t watched it back but we had two mauls inside their 10m which we blew
Rowlands messes up a pick & go about 5m from their line
We arsed about with pick & drives and blew another try when we should have done exactly what we did for the disallowed try
Winnett blew a 3 on 1 at the death
That’s 5 definite try scoring opportunities with no return
Contrast that with SA who had about 6 chances yesterday and scored 4 tries
I’ve been very critical of Gatland but yesterday it was all on the players except for having Costello on the bench
