@No-Quarter Enoka moved on after the RWC didnt he? who do we have in his place now?
"Ceri Evans, a consultant psychiatrist, takes the role of Head of Leadership and Mental Performance. The former All White brings plenty of high performance experience to the table, having been involved with the All Blacks since 2010 as well as Formula One and NBA teams.
Would have thought that it was more psychological role than psychiatric, but those lines are blurred from what I have read over the last couple of years.

I can't believe it, the breakdown finally provides some actual data and some good points. Stopped clocks and all that, but Goldie is right, there is no reason for us to carry a winger on the bench when we could load up with another loosie or lock. I guess the counter point is that our back-ups aren't good enough, but we could get fresh legs out there while we still have 1st 5 cover with Dmac and Barrett. Seems a strange call by the coaches.
I couldn't believe that they took off Clarke, moved Rieko to accommodate ALB and kept the worst decision maker in Jordie on the field.
Surely you replace Jordie with ALB and keep the other two where they were?

Have posters seen the series of feature articles by Jared Wright on the Planet Rugby website? With the poor offerings from the NZ Rugby press and AB regime this year it is great to see such a learned and passionate researcher of international rugby offering so many great insights to promote positive and educated thinking. It appears that he may even be a new poster to this forum, researching perspectives from a wide variety of fans in preparation for release of his articles.

The same 'learned and passionate researcher' that tries to argue that Jordie actually knocked on and Mbonambi merely applied pressure to the ball for a legitimate try?
Even a partisan crowd went silent - they know what they saw.

You're assuming that the partisan crowd is up on the flowchart of what happens in this situation. Jeff Wilson can tell you where to find that chart. For what its worth, the flowchart would mean the try would have been awarded.
Was the partisan crowd correct in baying for a red card when Sam Cane broke Kolisis face? I haven't looked back in the thread, but as one eyed as you are I'm sure i'll find somewhere where that you think it was play on. -

Clarke was hurt. He landed badly from a high ball take and then couldn't keep up with the ensuing play. I wouldn't be surprised if Clarke was ruled out this weekend.

The fantasies of the deluded aside, one would have to make the case Jordie attempted a strip as opposed to attempting to hold the ball up. Mbonambi loses the ball in contact and doesn't even apply pressure to the ball he lost. His reaction confirms that.
Not that it's relevant, but breaking a cheekbone isn't a red card. It's an absorbing tackle.

Then IMO he should've been replaced by Tele'a.

I thought the ref generally had a good game.
Well that makes you and Mrs Brace.
**If we had handled the bomb squad better the ref wouldn't have mattered.
Did you watch the game? It's not that practically every conceivable penalty was awarded against us, so were the inconceivable.
The Mbonabe try. Marx's rip on Darry. Ardie's turnover.**
There you are. The game was unwinnable because of the ref.

There were some terrible calls against the ABs. The posture of the ref against TJ at the beginning was strange, however we did get away with Cane staying on the field after the hit on Kolisi. At the end of the day we have to win even with crap calls, it’s still a loss and too much whinging won’t change the result. We don’t want to be victims, we must beat the team in front of us and if that include a refs dodgey calls then that’s what we have to do.

It's pretty strange when they make a big thing about having utility value in players and then use it in all the wrong ways. Like, it seems they couldn't get it more wrong every time they sub or even name a bench?
Someone is gonna pull Razor's mask off and it's Fozzie.

Fair enough but please include the ref's dodgy assistants!

If TJ had blasphemed in Afrikaans would we have won?
He should blaspheme in Te Reo ... but say it in a high pitched voice.

@nzzp yeah that is absolutely appalling refereeing, he clearly isn't up to it if he can't control his emotions in that situation. That plus the knock on try should see him stood down for a period of time, that's just nowhere near good enough.
Two best teams in the world and they schedule that mong. The game deserved better
Nothing will come of it. Wayne Barnes got a career after an appalling display of ineptitude. We were made to suffer as the pretence of "respecting the referee" kept getting thrown in our faces every time we were subjected to howlers. The only amateur hangover in a professional game.
He is abysmal. I was more angry about some of the ruck calls than the Mbonambi try.
Because for the ruck calls he was inventing stuff that didnt happen.
The Bongi try was an error of omission.
The ruck penalties were pure guesswork/dishonesty.

@Jet He called it a sledge so I presume the ref was struggling with TJ's accent and thought that he was calling one of the Springboks a twat.
Brace to TJ
‘I’m going to give you a clear message - insult me like that and you leave the field”
I don't think that's what he said. I listened a couple of times with headphones. I have
TJ: 'what's that'Ref (after the whistle)
I'm going to give you a very clear message. Shout at me again and you're going to leave the field.I thought it was 'insult' - if so, ref arguably justified. But really? Reverse possession with a penalty for shouting -- and very justified. Clear penalty to the Blackness for a player rolling over the ball on teh wrong side, and int eh modern game it's approaching yellow card given the field position.
Very poor refereeing.
Yes you could be right. I think the audio goes weird on that word which is why it sounds like it has two syllables
