@Tim Weird that they think Sam Whitelock might get a call up when he's said that he's definitely hanged up booots.

@Mr-Fish If it was Jason Ryan, then that's a worry.

Haha it wasn't Ryan either. The person isn't involved anymore, regardless!

    23 Love

McKenzie covering halfback? There's that razor innovation.

    Yeah we’ll go with that.

    Anyone but that Scots ranga.

Can see TJP starting in 1st Test on experience. Ratima hopefully starts 2nd Test. Havili over Love on basis Robertson knows him and experience.

Agree on Christie. Time to roll the dice at 9.

@Victor-Meldrew tough to figure out the logic on selecting a guy who's inexperienced at playing recently, let alone playing fullback at any level...over a guy who shines there right now.

Having Savea , Sotutu and Sititi competing for 8 is ludicrous.

    No. It's fucking great.

Can see TJP starting in 1st Test on experience.

Can see him putting in terrible kicks, mouthing off at the ref instead of clearing the ball, and just stinking up the place. He's shit at test level, and has had some really bad games for the Hurricanes recently. He was awful against the Chiefs. Missed a lot of tackles, and was very slow.

Not what I want. What I think will happen - at least for first few Tests

Would like the dice rolled, but think caution will be the name of the game for Robertson's 1st few games. Be pissed off it we haven't settled the 9 slots by the RC.

Yeah and I'm saying that would be even more bizarre logic than the last coach. Havili has hardly played this season, so he's going to select him in a position I can't recall him playing in years at SR level, let alone test level?

    Yeah nah.

Are we at cross-purposes? I'm suggesting DH might be at 23 over Love.

Still can't see the logic in selecting a 2nd five to cover fullback.

And that's an out of form 2nd five, covering a position he hasn't played in years, versus a very in form fullback.

If he wants experience then it'd be ALB, at least.

Think Robertson may see DH as a utility back who can cover 10, 12 & 15 at a pinch. He's clearly in his headlights for the squad with his playing at 10 in SR.

    Agreed.

I would think he'd see Jordie as at least equally capable. If he doesn't, then he's a stubborn moron. Sounds familiar...

Oh wait I see where this is going...

Jesus, I find it disturbing the number of people picking Perenara in the side. It would be a terrible backward looking selection. He's just been comprehensively outplayed by Ratima in a knock-out game: a performance which would have looked far worse if he had been rightly carded during the match.
Do we really have to be so conservative? Haven't we just seen with Roigard that the correct approach is to pick the guy who plays better? Who happens to also be the guy with a ready-made combination with the presumptive 10?

Just reiterating my comment from a month ago...

@Mr-Fish said in All Blacks 2024 - looking forward:

If Perenara is selected to start at 9, there's zero doubt in my mind that everyone on here will be complaining endlessly when he's inevitably giving the backline terrible service in July.
