@sparky Sititi made a few good runs in wide channels, and people get really excited about shiny new things.

He also made meters in close a few times.
    So strong in contact.

I can get people like me liking shiny new things, but you do you seriously think this coaching group is the same?

I reckon they had their eye on him before the Chiefs-Canes game.

What's the case for not selecting Hoskins Sotutu?

Lack of flexibility. Can only play 8, so can't cover the bench if Ardie starts

Didn’t Sotutu play in the backs as a youngster or did I imagine that ?

He could potentially be up there with Havili in terms of utility value.

Yeah I'm not sure Sititi has shown this fabled "flexibility" either. I would hope a coach would back himself to have a go at seeing if the big, in form number 8 can maybe have a go at playing 6 to the same level as Ardie, Paps, Grace, Blackadder...

    Pure fantasy talk.

I remain hopeful of Ardie to start at 7 and pick both Sotutu and Sititi in the squad.
We need some size in the pack, and when you have guys like that who are powerful and skillful, they are our point of difference.

Ardie has never played well for the ABs at 7 compared to 8.
I can't see them switching him.

Oh, do other nations not have any players who are powerful and skilful ?

Sotutu's drawback is that he isn't as good as Ardie and only covers 8.

He’s better than Sititi and that’s who’s rumoured to be in.

    I disagree.
Sititi is more powerful and direct than Sotutu.
It appears two different sets of coaching groups don't like him.

It's the same coach that doesn't like him. Jason Ryan.

    Wrong.
    Razor selects the loose forwards.
    Ryan the tight 5.

OK fine but I wouldn't call Ryan and Razor two sets of coaching groups. Two peas in a pod

@Frank is the tubby forward coach's white knight.

I am not sure he was 100%?

That's no excuse, shouldn't have played then.

If the team is named with Havili at 8 and Sotutu out, I'll blame you!
I do wonder why he can't play 6.

Brad Shields played for England, so there's that.

haha - he has the results.
Saders and then ABs made massive improvements with him in charge.

Weird, he was everyone's favorite 'til they (Blue supporters and a few others) think he might have had a hand in not selecting their favorite players.

That was subtle. Is the other half posting?!

Back to the thread (sorry Cane fans I don't think Shields is in the frame), I do wonder what if any effect that final might have on Monday announcements. There were some 1:1 matchups that revealed quite a bit, at least in the forwards.

I do wonder if Darry could be a quiet contender tomorrow, he did all the basics well, backed up, and was still focused and impactful right at the end.

There was some improvement overall and great in some games. In others - 2nd half against England and against the Bokke at Twickenham - they produced some of the worst AB forwards performances I've seen for years.

    Work in progress.
