Fact is - Foster, Schmidt and Ryan didn't want him.
And now it appears - Robertson, Ryan, Hansen and Macdonald (and Wayne Smith) don't want him with either.Hold on you said Razor selects the loosies. Now you've moved the goal posts. Nice one.
He does.

Sotutu's drawback is that he isn't as good as Ardie and only covers 8.
He’s better than Sititi and that’s who’s rumoured to be in.
I disagree.
Sititi is more powerful and direct than Sotutu.
It appears two different sets of coaching groups don't like him. It's the same coach that doesn't like him. Jason Ryan.
Wrong.
Razor selects the loose forwards.
Ryan the tight 5.OK fine but I wouldn't call Ryan and Razor two sets of coaching groups. Two peas in a pod
Haha "Okay fine"
Don't let your outrage get in the way of the facts. Two sets of coaching groups is disingenuous when you are talking about Ryan and Razor - they are nearly joined at the hip
You have no idea whether this is true or not.
And you are ignoring the other selectors in both groups.Well Foster & co picked Sotutu in multiple squads before Ryan showed up so.....
And look how that went..................
As I said I can understand the logic of no selecting him.
My point was that saying two sets of coaching groups not selecting him is disenguous
For you it is because you think Razor doesn't have independent thinking seprate from Ryan.
Secondly, the last coaching group did not give exclusive power to Ryan to NOT select Sotutu. Foster had a big say and also rejected him. -
At the end of the day, it comes down to Ardie v Hoskins and it would be a big call not to have Ardie in the starting XV.
So the question is whether Hoskins is in the 23 and covers 6 or replaces Ardie who moves to 7 ?

@KiwiMurph I'm not sure why Bower would be there, we can carry 5 props as Ofa & Tamaiti cover both sides, definitely think we need 4 locks incase S Barrett or Patrick were to get injured in the lead upto a Test
Ofa and De groot have injury concerns,If they are unable to train 100% for a while it leaves 3 fit props, I can see why they have included a 6th prop in Bower.
Live scrummaging etc can carry on to rest the props with niggles. -

@sparky Sititi made a few good runs in wide channels, and people get really excited about shiny new things.
He also made meters in close a few times.
So strong in contact.I can get people like me liking shiny new things, but you do you seriously think this coaching group is the same?
I reckon they had their eye on him before the Chiefs-Canes game.

What's the case for not selecting Hoskins Sotutu?
Lack of flexibility. Can only play 8, so can't cover the bench if Ardie starts
Didn’t Sotutu play in the backs as a youngster or did I imagine that ?
He could potentially be up there with Havili in terms of utility value.

Yeah I'm not sure Sititi has shown this fabled "flexibility" either. I would hope a coach would back himself to have a go at seeing if the big, in form number 8 can maybe have a go at playing 6 to the same level as Ardie, Paps, Grace, Blackadder...

I remain hopeful of Ardie to start at 7 and pick both Sotutu and Sititi in the squad.
We need some size in the pack, and when you have guys like that who are powerful and skillful, they are our point of difference.Oh, do other nations not have any players who are powerful and skilful ?
