With England to be played two weeks after Razor names his first squad, they'll need people who've been there and done that.

I'm expecting they'll pick pretty much everyone available, who was in France - and already there's 10/34 who definitely won't be - and you can bet there will be several more in the casualty ward.

Then they'll pick old hands like Perenara, Tuipolotou and Reece who can slot in quickly - still leaving spots for half a dozen rookies.

They won't be running out the Baby Blacks.

    Yep 100% agree with that.

Good to see you Cantabs can still circle the wagons with vigour this season.

Surely @sparky's post was mostly tongue and cheek.

I almost feel sorry for Scott Robertson. When he became All Blacks coach he was probably drooling over picking lots of Crusaders and turning the All Blacks into the Crusaderblacks. He was dreaming of the admiring looks he would get from Grizz Wylie and Robbie Deans.

Six months on. The Crusaders are utter shit. No more than a couple of their players will make the ABs. And Razors going to be giving his first pre-test team talk as AB coach almost exclusively to players from the Blues, the Canes and the Chiefs.

God damn one of the worst posts I've ever read.

I gave it an upvote cos it made me laugh

Catching the first bus home from Courtenay Place after a very long and drunken night out? 🙂

Vaii is definitely in based on what Ryan said on SENZ. Highlighted him as someone who is playing really well. While he's been better this year in SR, I still have my doubts if he has the ability to match it with the big boys at the highest level. Hope he proves me wrong.

@akan004 The workrate from Vaii in Super rugby has been huge. I am astounded at all the criticism of him

There is a difference between a player with high work rates than a work horse
Finau is a high work rate player.
Players who don’t drift in games are high work rate players. They certainly have an impact due to being in the game more than a player who drifts in and out.
Sotutu,Lakai have high work rates,Jacobsen ,Lilo-Willie ,DP are all high work rate players.

    I

Another aspect is consistency between games. McCaw was great at best or still VG on a bad day. Likewise, Carter.

Others (like me when I played rugby) are all over the place. Canes have all over the place between weeks players. IWL being one. Looking AB quality some weeks and shit (vs Blues) other weeks. Some games he's fired up. Other weeks he looks disinterested.

My view is Shields is like this as well. And always has been. Iose might be as well. And Kirifi to an extent. Whereas Lakai isn't so far. Hes better some weeks than other but the difference is not great

@Duluth I'll leave @ACT-Crusader to do the honours.

My first squad naming will even surprise Razor….

@ACT-Crusader I look forward to it just as much as the actual squad naming.

I’m hoping to name it with plenty of the time before the England series, but the eligibility and passport checks for Johnny McNichol are taking time…

Sam Darry doing enough for a call up to the ABs squad IMHO.
