the captain in his last game ever should have shown a bit of class. Doesn't have any tho
Agree. If he was younger and a hothead it might be excusable.

I'm shocked, shocked! That Reiko is being a dick.
Hand on the ear after a win with all the noise that's led up to it -- that's a solid 2-3 out of 10 for the 'being a dick-ometer'
Really? you have goading the losing opposition fans as only a 2-3 on the dickometer?
(assuming he was doing it to the crowd?, not to Sexton)
If anyone other than Sexton had reacted, where would it be on the scale?
I mean, Reiko alway been a bit of a classless dick, so maybe I'm doing a reverse over dick-ometering of him. Nah, that is classless.
If he is telling 'us' to shut up. E.g. The negative NZ fans, the Foster truthers. Then fair enough, although he'd still be wrong.

@Winger A brave call would be to start Roigard for the Semi and have Smith on the bench.
I would at least have him on the bench. He provides an alternative. Christie doesn't.
I hope Smith finds form as Roigard hasn't had enough game time. Litle things like this could cost us the RWC. And while it would be fun to slag off a certain AB coach, I would prefer to win it all.

The morning after , It’s funny how one game can completely change perceptions,
All of a sudden with a fully fit squad and a winnable semi final in front of us , we look very well placed
Losing to France was a master stroke, all hail king Fozzie.
Pretty sure that Fozzie has been a realist.
We are greedy little bastards who think we should win every game, but the world has turned and we've got to be pragmatic - the loser now is later to win and all that.
We very clearly didn't prepare as though winning our first pool match was a major priority - a nice to have, but not a priority, because for most of our guys it was their second game in a month.
Seems like we're in a good spot, now. Our undercooked guys have had a good searing in an Irish crucible. I don't think we've got any injury concerns. And we're likely looking at two games against opponents we know well to win the big cup.

You might say after the not even playing but abuse the ref on the field and up the tunnel incident - he's a poor man's Sexton.

Dunno. Never felt offended by gobby, audacious players like Mike Philips and McCaw. Ireland needed gobby and audacious players like sexton and o’mahony too. You don’t like losing to us because of the history, but we ain’t ever winning those those games without characters just like that. Anyway to the victor the spoils. You’ll put 40+ on Argentina.
Imagine calling McCaw gobby. Thanks for joining the Fern to present us with that take.

That's 100% on Frizzell. Ioane turns him in as he should, Shannon misses a straight shot
This game going with penalties at thr moment
If that had been Michael Jones Bundee would have had to have been renamed Ribs.
If it had been Jerome or Jerry, there would have just been a puddle left

@antipodean see I didnt even mind POM and his comment, it was amusing, not great for Cane, btu he has had the last laugh, but Sexton comes over as arrogant and full of self importance.
But yeah, McCaw as gobby?

Meh. You are better than us but all the bad mouthing of sexton by all blacks fans comes across as weak to me. He pumped you a good few times and that doesn’t sit will with you because he’s not meek and self effacing like you expect us to be. But guess what. Winning is what counts and we’ve gone from never beating you to pumping you five times in ten years. Would be a sad and soppy game if we turned everything into a saddo popularity contest. Maybe have a bit of grace and realise he’s one of the best you’ve come across.

I have a line, where players cross from "he's a dick, but he's our dick" to "he's just a classless dick".
The "but he's our dick" is a player who's sh!thousery helps to win a match, or at least is an attempt to (e.g. Coles, Fitzy).
The "classless dick" is someone who goads an opponent or fans at the most disappointing moment of their careers. E.g. a Gregan or a Ioane.
Even, the in-game headpatting is getting into the classless territory for me, of which, Ioane is also a master.

One of the major criticisms of McCaw when he became captain was that he wasn't vocal enough. Gobby and audacious? Lay down the crack pipe.

Ah dude. You started out promising. The guy is a fantastic rugby player. He is also a prima donna and a whinger. You can be a great rugby player and not utterly unlikeable. Even non-Leinster fans struggle with him, ask anyone from Munster.

Nah. We like talented, competitive players regardless of the country they're from. I recognise that Sexton was both and had a long, storied career. He was also a right fluffybunny and that makes him unlikeable.

Yeah Ioane vs Sexton at the end of the game was a real “clash of the dickheads”.
I really hope our boy grows up and shows a bit of decorum down the line.
