Sam Costelow
While you tubing selected players new to me I especially enjoyed this re: Sam Costelow. He is fun to watch, looks an exciting addition from the Welsh Flyhalf factory. Your thoughts on him Mike?

Very talented and skillful
Back himself and takes it to the line
Blows hot and cold unfortunately

@MiketheSnow Thanks Mike. Will watch with interest Sunday morning our time.

With 6 recent first stringers, it ought to. But looks a bit imbalanced to me.
I don’t t see what Borthwick is trying to achieve or discover with that selection. I am … underwhelmed.
-
Marcus Smith is simply an unbelievable talent. Just a superb presence to surpass Jonny Sexton as the most hateable man in international rugby at such a young age, with a tenth of the talent and all while Sexton is on a ban for being an A grade fluffybunny.

Yeah bit clueless as to what the 6N are trying to achieve with these games. Only thought is to keep the second XV "fresh"?
-
The whole halfpenny family cheering Leigh on.
All seven and a half pence of them
-
Shit I woulda gone corner. England D looks rusty
-
Actually plenty of gaps appearing for both sides.

Yeah but then you have to show your strengths/weaknesses at the 5m lineout...
-
England showing the kind of skill the 2021/22 ABs were known for - snatching a turnover from a sure thing try.
-
@Bones Yes but it's only Wales.....
-
Steward the best in the world under the high ball. Love it.
-
Lol. Marcus Smith runs into the scrum to gee up the boys ...Berry says "What are you doing...get out ..."

He makes Sexton loveable.

-
Wales all over England ATM.
-
It finished Wales 20 England 9.
-
@Victor-Meldrew A what, 22yo? Yelling at his teammates for mistakes and making his shitty boy band hair quiver all the fucking time. He does small baby crying endlessly at least as good as Jonny and then cherry on tops it with the other shit.

I agree.
But Sexton's face is way more slappable. In a class of it's own.

Taine Plumtree was on the winning side and join the long-list of Kiwi Welsh internationals.
-
I hope the dire anything goes refereeing in this match is not seen in RWC. Zero policing of offsides obstruction and highshots. Players were taking the mickey in getting ahead of the kicker...
Can't see point in England playing a third xv in this match. The Welsh loosies were so dominant the English barely put up a fight. Will be hard for Borthwick to select his squad now.

Nic Berry MOTM
Would have him reffing every week
Light years better than Hometown Ben
-
Started enjoying my adult beverages at about the 45 min mark
Comfortable in the end
England bereftDombrandt has gone backwards at a rate of knots
Smith likewise
We were fit, well coached, well disciplined (see fitness and coaching)
Rather be us than England
-
Oh and if Darcy’s try was a try, then LRZ’s should have been too
Consistency ffs -

Yeah it was pretty odd to play a warm up match with a bunch of guys who might play the minnows but a number who won't even do that.
-
I see a lot of English "supporters" bemoaning the change in coaches and this performance, but I feel that England played with some expanse and enterprise, they just lacked accuracy, especially in the 22. Score could easily have been much closer.
-
Yes handling errors in the first half when we had some ball and a bit of ascendancy cost us, but come the end we looked bereft of of a plan or even any ideas. Wales deserved winners.
-
@MiketheSnow next week will be interesting in the return fixture just to see how both coaches approach the game.
Wales need to keep Jac Morgan & Wainwright out of the firing line now - both superb yesterday. -
To hold any international team to no tries in this day & age is a bloody good effort

Consistency ffsThe reviewing of that was farcical. TMO saying “no separation” and “try”. Berry, watching the same replay can see clear separation and asks her to review it. “Yes. Clear separation “. She was useless.
Right decision in the end but only because Berry had the balls to call out the TMO.
