I thought that Parkinson was better than Dickson for the Highlanders. The latter still gives away some dumb penalties.
I'd pick IWL as the other lock myself.
Didn't IWL give away some dumb penalties too. Otherwise had a good gameq

Thought Vaa’i was very good and perhaps not as noticed as the attention was on BBBR.
Sadly Akira didn’t use the time off to learn to use his legs to drive in contact. Annoys the hell out of me that Frizell is one of the few tight/loosies that does because Akira is easily better than him in other aspects. As soon as he makes contact he just leans his weight forward and shrugs trying to shake the tacklers off. If only he stayed more balanced and pumped his huge legs…..

@Crucial it used be his strength.
He has genuinely gotten worse with years of professional coaching
It’s weird. There’s hardly ever any knee lift. I do vaguely remember when he was younger that he would stride through contact a bit like Ardie. Now he looks like he has been trained by Owen Franks.
Is he too top heavy? -
Maybe because steamrolling is his standard, but I would have Samisoni at 2, he made some great runs as usual, throwing was slightly off at times but he had a massive impact vs that Crusaders pack. Aumua was great coming on late as an impact and may well be an incredible sub with the new high paced tempo but Sami starts for me.

@chimoaus his lineout throwing fell apart for a while and it could have cost us
Aumua had a not straight as well but yes, was not the best functioning lineout.

If we naming players from weekend's game, and not naming Abs in anyway. A few that impressed me were Stevenson, Telea
Nankivell did some good stuff,
DMac was fairly good as were both Weber and Roigard.
Ardie,Frizzell and Cane were loosies I noticed doing some good work
BBBR and Vai'i were best of locks, though PT was not bad either
Lomax,Malfeso and Aumua were a front orw unit I enjoyed.
Just my opinion on how I look at games, and see everyone else's points too. I don't even consider AB selection as part of it this early in year. -
If we do a complete team....
Ravutaumada
Telea
L Aumua
J Barrett
Masi
DMac
Roigard
Savea
Papalii
Blackadder
Retallick
Thrush
Nonggorr (only watched first half so...)
Ikanivere
De Groot -

came in just to say this (little else the highlanders can contribute except maybe ainsley's scrummaging), dickson was prominent as he was often the pillar for the first pod.....but PPP quietly just went around the field grafting, as im mentioned, his one man counter ruck was amazing

Did anyone else waste their time watching The Breakdown crew rave about Fakatava's performance? It is amazing how so many people can say so little in so much time.
Jealousy will get you nowhere. How's the achilles?
