It sounds like weird bollocks, doesn't it? He's made it clear he simply wants to experience the tournament and will keep a distance from the team. Makes perfect sense to me - particularly as he hasn't coached at the top level before and doesn't want to distract the team.
If NZR rugby had any sense, they'd have opened doors for Robertson to go backstage with other teams to get a feel for a RWC.

We've pretty much dumped continuity with Robertson's appointment. You'd have to assume/hope that conversations took place between the AB coaching staff and SR coaches regarding RWC planning though.

TBH, I can understand why it would be prudent for Razor to keep a wider berth - it seems pretty obvious that his presence in close proximity to the ABs could be a distraction or could be used to manufacture a distraction.
However, I do find it weird that Foster had to say it and / or that Razor had to be told - does not reflect well on either of them in my view. -

question is why would he need to do media before the 1st of nov. most people would just get on with planning and start the new job then. NZR had to be worried that he would .
agree that to ban him from matches seem strange -
@ploughboy pretty sure when he was appointed, he said he had plans to be in France for the RWC, and he is back in NZ now by all accounts?
As @Victor-Meldrew said above, could have been an opportunity for NZR to give him some access anyway, great for his learning and planning while also not saying what has now been said.

as i said no problem with him being at games. let be honest this was not a friendly take over so not surprised managerment dont want him around plus he has ryan there to give him feedback anyway.

Did either of them say it or is it just bollocks? Foster doesn't come across as precious and Robertson had made his non-interaction with the ABs clear yonks ago.

Reminds me of when Marshy was commentating the ABs and was flabbergasted that Naholo came on at 13 despite the AB press conference that week confirming Naholo was covering 13....
This sounds like Marshy trying to act as if he is 'breaking news'.
Rennie said same when he was asked about going to 2019 WC, said he felt there no point him being anywhere near the team.

Who’s my source. Let’s just say chch is a small place. But sumner is even smaller.Razor shouldn't of even been told to stay away so I have my suspicions mate. If I believed everything that someone who knows someone say , mt I got a lot of time for Razor and don't believe he needed to be told that is all.

@Dan54 I think this is more than speculation by a few ferners, it was obviously Marshall that bought it up (likely to shit stir) and they did a bit on it on TV1 news this morning, if NZR and/or Foz didnt, then they could have shut it down.

yes and I think Marshall deliberately brought it up? It's being reported over quite a few websites now.
