@mariner4life what porkie pies have I told you. Ask me anything in a pm and I’ll tell you what I know. Steven Harris, Chris , stargazer all know my source and will back me up.
question is why would he need to do media before the 1st of nov. most people would just get on with planning and start the new job then. NZR had to be worried that he would .
agree that to ban him from matches seem strange -
@ploughboy pretty sure when he was appointed, he said he had plans to be in France for the RWC, and he is back in NZ now by all accounts?
As @Victor-Meldrew said above, could have been an opportunity for NZR to give him some access anyway, great for his learning and planning while also not saying what has now been said.

as i said no problem with him being at games. let be honest this was not a friendly take over so not surprised managerment dont want him around plus he has ryan there to give him feedback anyway.

However, I do find it weird that Foster had to say it and / or that Razor had to be told - does not reflect well on either of them in my view.
Did either of them say it or is it just bollocks? Foster doesn't come across as precious and Robertson had made his non-interaction with the ABs clear yonks ago.
-
@Victor-Meldrew obviously getting lawyers involved says otherwise about Foster
-
Hadn't heard that about Foster & Robertson staying away. Can you post a link?

I'm almost certain it was confirmed when Razor was appointed that Razor would be attending the RWC but steering clear of ABs.
Reminds me of when Marshy was commentating the ABs and was flabbergasted that Naholo came on at 13 despite the AB press conference that week confirming Naholo was covering 13....
This sounds like Marshy trying to act as if he is 'breaking news'.
Rennie said same when he was asked about going to 2019 WC, said he felt there no point him being anywhere near the team.

@Dan54 💯 that he has been barred from any All Black game. He’s not allowed to do anything until November 1st. No media , nothing.
Who’s my source. Let’s just say chch is a small place. But sumner is even smaller.Razor shouldn't of even been told to stay away so I have my suspicions mate. If I believed everything that someone who knows someone say , mt I got a lot of time for Razor and don't believe he needed to be told that is all.
-
@Dan54 I think this is more than speculation by a few ferners, it was obviously Marshall that bought it up (likely to shit stir) and they did a bit on it on TV1 news this morning, if NZR and/or Foz didnt, then they could have shut it down.

yes and I think Marshall deliberately brought it up? It's being reported over quite a few websites now.

Yep but as I say, I would be surprised if Razor had to be told to stay away. And if he did he not the man I thought he was. I sure he hasn't been barred as Marshall says which sounds like he is not allowed into games. Just a Marshall beat up, as I said I remember Rennie saying he wouldn't go near Wallabies' or games as it would be distraction. I not sure why anyone thinks he should be near them. I am a little surprised he even went to France to be honest.
-
@Dan54 why wouldnt he?
As above, pretty sure he said before his appointment as AB coach he said he was going, why should he change his plans?
As a coach something like this would be a great opportunity to see and speak with other coaches, get some 'learnings', plus, what else has he got going on, he doesnt officially start until 01/11 and most of his players will be off on holiday in the next week or 3...
-
@taniwharugby not to mention he went and scouted England who are his first up opponents

NZR and Foster could have made this all go away by coming out and saying it was bollocks, if that's what it was. I guess Razor could have squashed the story as well, if there was nothing to it other than some whataboutery generated by Justin Marshall

And this sort of crap is why you don't pick a coach before the end of another's tenure.
Obvious he shouldn't be floating around the current setup, and no need to be at the games either. Start getting organised and stop moaning to your mates about ole meany Foster.

Rubbish. Can you imagine the shit storm that would be surrounding the question of who will coach next year after a record loss on the eve of the rwc followed by our first ever pool loss? Razor break dancing in the middle of the dressing room before the game would be a minuscule distraction compared to that circus.
Foster already used the distraction card when his original contract got extended early. The following two years have been a disaster.
Not being at trainings and in the sheds is 100% reasonable. Not being allowed in the stadium Far from the players to watch would be pretty ridiculous and petty. Are our management and players really that mentally fragile that it would cause issues? Maybe they are.
-
@Kirwan Bs and bs. In 2019 they started the process after the RWC and we all saw that that was too late.
And going to RWC to watch games live isn't the same as "floating around the current setup". Even watching ABs games isn't too close to the squad.
I actually think being there and watching the RWC as a coach rather than a spectator, chatting with other coaches etc may contribute to a good preparation of his next job.
Who says Robertson has been moaning to his "mates". You're just making shit up.
-
Try reading the thread, it's clear he's been discussing it. In my opinion that's a moan.
An interesting question would be was Marshall asked to release this to cause trouble? In any case, I want us to win the World Cup, any distractions like this should be obviously avoided.
