All Blacks v England

England were under the pump till the 71st minute, but the ABs should have nailed the coffin long before. There were costly errors when the NZ forwards were destroying their English counterparts : two crooked throws by Taylor and two missed kicks by RM after favorable penalties.
You didn't think the ST crooked throw after a penalty was a bit costly?

Ref was fine. BB, honestly where was he all game, he's past it. Whitelock also can't pull 80 minutes. Brodie simply wasn't fit. Why we kept both locks on is beyond me, it was obvious they were gassed. Although some might think that's a choke, I think the gold star goes to England for just putting it out. Pathetic. Who dares wins? Honestly, embarrassing. I'm actually shocked England cut us to bits like that out wide, goes to show we've still got a very long way to go. A draw with England is a loss in my book, but in this day and age I'm sure NZRFU won't see it like that.
Spot on. Some of these players have to give way for younger ones. Hate to harp on but it all goes back to Foster who should not be there. You have to ruthless and get rid of some of the dead wood. On this choke we do not have a chance next year in France.

Of we do well in France maybe we look back to this game as a marker....

@Crazy-Horse Yep, and one try was given that should have been disallowed, because there was no conclusive evidence of a grounding.
Disagree re the grounding. I thought an angle showed the ball clearly on the line. They only showed the angle once soon after the try, but the ball definitely touched the line.
Guess it depends on your definition of clear and obvious. Mine is to see the ball clearly on the line, quite obviously. Not "I think that might be a blade of grass coloured white touching the ball".
I saw the ball clearly on the line.
You and Raynal both. I'm happy with my decision.

Fuck I hope U are wright. Cannot C us beating Ireland or France at the moment.

The ref wasn't fine. Didn't favour either team, but the calls were so unpredictable both teams suffered.
Are you the same guy that's the only one backing the same ref's decision to overturn a non try? Unpredictable. Understood 😬

Both are beatable. France could have lost to both South Africa and Australia (and probably should have).

@Bones Would we ever, ever celebrate a draw?
Come back to me in ten years. Unless you can think of a team we've got the same record against as England have against us that we've been 3 tries down on and miraculously managed a draw in the last ten?

No. Not the same guy at all. Clearly a different person.

I think this AB team has shown they can beat anyone on a given day but reasonable to say you would not have confidence that they can win three tough tests in a row.
Yeah, and we are on the tough side of the draw. England have a huge chance at the World Cup.

@sparky said in All Blacks v England:
The team's review of that last ten minute should be totally honest and utterly brutal. What went wrong frame by frame by frame. We've got 11 months how do we fix each and every thing that went wrong?
Agreed. But at least they now have a list of things they've successfully worked on and can tick off as no longer being a total disaster. I expected to lose this game so while disappointed we let them back in for the draw, the first 70 minutes was the best I've seen since we shellacked Ireland in the last RWC.
Plenty of work-ons, but real progress and momentum and a completely different on-field attitude for the most part. I actually have some optimism for RWC2023 where there was none 6 months ago.

What the fuck Happened. AB went to sleep
same thing all season. Rocks and diamonds.
THat said, there's great building blocks there. Solid midfield, quality in the forward pack -- it's just mental now. Very much on the upward curve with the new coaching setup. I'm not disappointed at all
If you'd told me we'd draw against England on the EOYT, I'd have been more than happy.
What if I told you that an hour ago…?
-
You know what, I don't give a shit about the World Cup. I care that our mana is being damaged here every other test by Foster and co. Test matches are important. It was all lovely and fluffy to hear Richie talk about the team culture, but what the hell happened to the AB coach that put the fear of god into you that losing is just not acceptable. If you play badly, kiss your position goodbye. You're not AB material. This woke world of accepting failure is destroying the All Blacks. We will be just another team in less than 2 years if this crap keeps up.

Why did Marcus Smuth kick that out?
Because he is a coward
To be honest at that stage of the game I was worried they would go the length of the pitch again. Maybe a good thing for us that he kicked it out. We could have lost and that would have been even more embarrassing.

It's those little fuck-ups when we have momentum which has bitten us on the arse time and time again. I console myself that they are getting fewer and fewer.
