All Blacks v Argentina II

@Stargazer cool. Well if you think a23 with the ability to win 3 games out of nine is good enough. Good on you. But I don't, what we have is not good enough. Selections, tactics, coaching, mental strength, micro skills, etc are all at a level of quarter final exits that's what we'll get if we stick with this. The fact this is the first time the same 15 had started 3 times in a row in the pro era shows how important using that risk continuity is. Not at all

Why is Bledisloe 1 on a Thursday??
Better question is why are there no ABs game in Sydney at all!!!

Havili isn't amazing but, he just might be the guy that works as the glue between the enigmatic mounga and Ioane
Havili's pop pass to Rieko for the try was lovely. So good I thought it was Mo'unga. Havili and Rieko are looking better the more they play together and look dangerous when our forwards provide a decent platform.

AFL Finals on in Melb
Shows where rugby sits in the hierarchy over there

Havali only really works when our forwards are on top or have parity.
He can’t crash his way out of trouble or relieve some pressure by getting over the gainline when we are on the back foot.
Not sure if he is the answer for the RWC pressure games But we aren’t exactly blessed in this area.
Thought Ioane played well and is starting to grow into the 13 jersey.
Jordan is very out of sorts.

I've given this some thought and while the ideal is a 12 that's a Ma'a clone on steroids and HGH, the reality is it's the forwards job to provide the platform. I'll take smart over brawn (especially after I watch the Boks).
Thankfully there's encouraging signs the last three games.

The referee approach made a huge difference tonight. Our forwards were awesome. ST Cane De Groot Ardie all huge. Thought Havili was good too. Only Caleb Clarke was sub par, making same errors as previously. Hope to see Reece in next time. Jordan not at his best but chased well.
Vastly better bench with Brodie leading the way.
Well done AB's and coaching team. Proud of you all! -

I thought Havilli was excellent tonight. Rock-solid all-round performance
Which, on recent evidence, is why Frizzell fry should be the 6. We need these glue guys to allow others to do their thing
In the last few games the likes of Scooter & Frizzell have quietly got stuck in and done the hard yards. Not spectacular and not always winners but working to provide a really solid foundation.

@Machpants They have a brand new stadium in Sydney yet they accept a Thursday night slot in AFL-mad Melbourne as part of their never-ending delusion of turning rugby into a national sport
NRL finals too….

will Argentina be competitive against S Africa? Their forwards look winded.
Pts now 10 NZ and all rest are on 9.. -

Think tonight I see @MiketheSnow view point on Richie M.
Still better than BB for me but he had a poor decison making test.
RM thinks he’s Michael Jordan
The sooner he realises he’s Scottie Pippen the quicker NZ regain their Best in the World mantle
That’s basically everyone in our team at the moment though

He's the biggest culprit, and arguably the person who has the most impact on executing the game plan

Cane was excellent. If you don’t think so, either
- You are wilfully obtuse
- Your main sport is soccer and the tackling was too hard
- Your parents named you Timothy
2, 8, 12, 13 were also very good as was the team generally.

I saw that at the time. Funny but awkward.

@Bones Jordan's a fullback, Jordie's a fullback - and neither of them are a patch on Reece on the wing.
We just need to make a decision instead of trying to squeeze them both onto the field.Jordie to 12, easy. He can at least hit the line hard, and rieko and him seen to operate very well together
Hell yeah, great idea. Just when the midfield is starting to gel and is play well, let's break it up and start all over again with a player who has never played a test at 12. Geezus.
I can see the reasoning behind moving Jordie to 12, he certainly has the attributes to go well there. But Foster has already said he sees Jordie as a 15, and there's not really a compelling body of evidence to make him change his mind - Jordie was only OK for the Canes at 12, he didn't really stand out. So the Jordie to 12 brigade will be waiting a long time for that to happen.
