@Victor-Meldrew I believe Jordie was put at 14 to give nz an offensive and defensive weapon for the aerial bombardment tactics of the type mastered by Finlay Christie last weekend.
Understand the offensive bit, but we don't seem to have used it for some reason. The defensive bit makes sense if we're playing the Wobbles. But we're not.

Scott Barrett is due a big match I reckon.
Has he ever actually had one? He must be massively overdue
-
Bit of a conundrum discouraging the opposition from an aerial bombardment when you could play the likes of Reece and McKenzie to draw in more good ball for counter attacks which are typically our strength. Playing Jordie with his height and powerful boot shows intention for attacking in opposition territory and playing safer in your own. That is my interpretation from what has been said.

I am wondering who Al Black is...
Otere's brother?
Whilst that post is vaguely amusing how did you get 7 up votes and I got none ... 🥶

A good reason for playing Jordie at 14:
We’re in our 22 and Argies fanning out and tackling well. Nuggie fires to Jordie and he boots it into stand.
Play restarts with Pumas throwing in 5 metres in their own half.
That is all.
It's a double-bluff - Pumas expect Jordie to boot the ball into outer space and set themselves up accordingly. However, Foster - the wily old fox - has other plans: Nuggie to ignore Jordie in the pocket and instead fire a bullet pass out to Mou'unga who quickly shovels on a hospital pass to JG, who's stood flat-footed as he's smothered by the Argie backrow well behind the advantage line. Genius deception from Foster & Co.

Some called it keeping your powder dry.
Oh how we laughed,

French series in 2018. But his form in Black since has been up and down in my view. His best work has probably been as an impact player off the bench. He needs to step it up.

NZ have the personnel and motivation to double single digit their detractors
NZ by 19-24

Something about this sentence sounds rather rude and unsettling. Just can't put my finger on it.

If they pull Akira early or put Sotutu on with less than 30 minutes to go I will blow my top as spectacularly as a double-jointed stripper strapped to gelignite on top of a tugboat.

Deserves an upvote for that alone.

So ahhh....got a cost estimate on that?
-
@nostrildamus said in Argentina Two: Newcastle, 28 November:
@Bones for obvious reasons I won't be there to cost the cleanup.
And I did say as spectacularly as, but not, necessarily, as fetching ...First I've heard someone nickname it "tugboat". Good on ya mate

Like in Albany in 2017 against the Boks. Ironically, at blindside when he replaced Squire. A long time ago...

There's a reason Boks sacked their coach in early 2018.

eh, he had some bad losses and was a political appointment. No way does NZR ever go down that rabbit hole.
