I'm guessing they are expecting Aussie to be playing a tight game with plenty of kicking to corners, up and unders etc. The counter to that is having a back three who are all very safe under the high ball and with Barrett x2 and RM you would expect to win force backs with their boots.
I am hoping we see a very forward orientated game where we win up front first and suffocate the Aussies. I saw some promising glimpses in the NI vs SI game where the forwards seemed to be running a lot of plays themselves and doing interesting things.
The conditions/game plan just might not suit the Reece/Clarke power style game. I suspect it is going to be all about front foot ball through the forwards and Ioane.
Exciting to be guessing either way.

@Hooroo Might be selected for kick chasing given the forecast conditions.
The counter-argument is Clarke is bloody good at kick chasing himself.
On the other hand, we haven't had anyone so good at running at a reasonable pace in a straight line as Bridge since Caleb Ralph was playing

Anyone want a bet this is starting XV?
Moody, Taylor, Tuungafasi, Tuipulotu, Whitelock, Frizell, Cane (cpt), Savea, Smith, Mounga, Bridge, Goodhue, Ioane, J.Barrett, B.Barrett.
Letâs just say not my pick, but wouldnât bet against it
So Fozzie is going to focus on using specialists in each position except for Ardie, Jack, Jordie and Beaudy?
It looks a bit like a bail out on who to leave out of the 10/15 equation.

It's a piece of dogshit selecting.

@mariner4life It's certainly no Brave New World!
-
Nothing says "I want to show i'm my own man" by selecting zero new starters.
The back 3 is just plain weird - shoehorning the best 15 to wing in order to select someone at 15 who looked far better at 10 (not 15) during Super Rugby and then on the other wing deciding against a strike winger.

The Aussie camp think Mo'unga will be the 1st 5.
As antipodean says mind games.
If perchance the And pick RM well look at us, we're geniuses and know what they're thinking. If BB, meh ...

The really surprising line to read was âmaybe with Aaron Smithâ.
Weâre not dealing with rocket surgeons here...

Itâs a great skill that should get him a 60 plus test career. George may however want to grow his hair longer and develop a post drinking ritual of jumping on cars.

it's not awful. but it's also not brilliant either.
Itâs awful
Not enough Crusaders? Too many Chiefs? No DMac...
Backs are a mess
BB was not in form at 15 during SRA, played better at 10.
Goodhue is a better 13 than 12. If Ioane starts ALB should be 12.
JB is not a winger and Bridge is not a strike weapon.
Forwards are OK although I would prefer that Sotutu starts and Ardie finishes. -
@bayimports the sauce is strong in this one! đ

Yes, if that is the back three it is very underwhelming and so conservative.

I'd go so far as to say that is the worst of the 'likely' backline combos they could pick and I can't match it at all with their statement of selecting on form rather than reputation.
So, if this is the case, a big black mark in the first box of the regime for saying something and not having the conviction to see it through.
This all assumes that the sauce is good.
