The 13 jersey should be for Goodhue or Rieko Ioane. I know the latter is considered by many as a left wing but his last performances there in black were disappointing. He seems to have lost his former speed. Moreover, with Clarke and Telea (formerly a left wing with NH and the Blues) in outstanding form, there are exciting options for the 11 jersey. And I did not even mentioned Fainganu'uku nor Alaimalo.

He had a calf injury that caused him to miss SR games and AB Tests. His training was restricted throughout the international season

@voodoo I know you are not talking Super form, but I think a great example of what he brings is his contribution to Jordan's chip and chase try on the weekend. He did what he did with minimal fuss and flamboyance, but he quickly drew in two defenders before a nicely timed pass. When he does stuff like that it looks so easy, therefore it can escape people's attention.

I have a mate that says the same thing about Goodhue. He doesn't see the fuss. I agree last year was not his best, but like someone else said he was mucked around by coaches who couldn't settle on a combination.

And comparing him to Smith, how old was Smith before we all started fornicating over him?

Not only that, following on from the greatest AB midfield combo ever was always gonna be tough. As fans are our standards that ridiculously high ? It’s a good thing the food bills from last year have gone and simplified things.

@nzzp sure, I'm not really talking about his Super form this year, more his body of work in black. Has it really been that impressive? Last RWC for example?

One of the few players who played well in our loss to England.
    Same solid self. Unflustered.

Run lines like Conrad, hit hard in defence like Frank, distribute like Robinson, get over the ball like Tana....that’s all

I think Goodhue is fine, does everything well, not exceptional at anything, just a solid center.
Until someone exceptional does come along, I like his mistake free play.
12 has to be ALB, but he seems really out of form this season.

Like I've said a few times, I'm not advocating for anyone else at this point. He's a good 13 and deserves his spot. I just think he has become a bit overrated for simply being solid.

I can't figure out if you're talking about Smith now. 😉

McKenzie on the other hand is at a real risk of missing out if he continues with his current vein of form.

Shocker of a game against the 'Canes - apart from one brilliant tackle.

Thought his form in RWC2019 was as impressive as any other AB - probably better.

The 13 jersey should be for Goodhue or Rieko Ioane.

Have to disagree. The last thing we need is another 4 years of buggering about with midfield combinations. Stick with Goodhue/ALB and build the understanding.

That said, I'd want Reiko in the squad covering 11, 13 & 14. He had a shit 2019 in black but is just too a player to abandon.

Mark Robinson was hardly one of the great AB centres. His career was just too brief. That guy that @taniwharugby knows though, boy oh boy I hear he was a good un.

@MN5 so his international career was two Tests in 2000 and seven in 2002. That's rancid bait for @taniwharugby
