@Yeetyaah starts at the top. E Jones pulled it off and stuffed it in his trouser pickets as soon as he was off stage.

If they didn't want them I'm sure some random Japanese fan would have liked a silver RWC medal. 🙂

If you haven't seen the post match press conference with the Boks it is well worth a watch. Full credit to both men and the Bok team as a whole, pure class. Rassie had a story they all bought into, much like how Razor does with the Crusaders.

@chimoaus I love that bit when he said they weren't under pressure, pressure was not having a job or ending up dead. Like some at home. Way to put it into perspective

Must admit almost bought a tear to my eye when he was saying these things and the kind words he had for Kolisi. Even the look of contentment on his face in between questions was pure.

Hard to begrudge genuinely humble guys like that

@Luigi @Catogrande and the other Englishmen on here: harsh lines. Your boys showed some heart, particularly fighting back in the scrums.

And I’d be surprised if this English side doesnt keep improving. Which is a frightening thought.

Thanks Smuts and congratulations to you and the other Saffer posters. Deserved winners and in truth it didn't look like going the other way almost from the off. We ddin't really get to fire a shot, which is down to the level of control your boys had. Well played Bokke.

England and their arrogant coach celebrated beating the All Blacks like it was VE day. Hubris.

Nemesis comes in the form of the Springboks.

    What a load of rubbish.

Most of the English fans are great. I was thinking about some of the rubbish that has been in the UK media this week.

As with most countries, the real rugby people are wonderful. Sadly, it’s the bandwagon jumpers, bringing their petty footballing fan culture, that ruin it for everyone. England, quite naturally given the size of their population just tend to have more than most

This is the sort of shit that I hate about rugby in this country - the people who put themselves on a pedestal because the like rugby. Or call people “rugby guys” like it’s some sort of compliment.

    It’s a sport. If you’re a piston wristed gibbon, you’re a piston wristed gibbon.

Most people in this world are good people. Rugby has no higher ratio of good guys than any other sport - despite what the rugby guys will tell you.

I'm going to disagree with you on that one, MR. Rugby, as a sport, is built on certain values, which are driven not just by tradition, but also what it takes to actually go out and play (courage, determination, teamwork, respect etc.). In short, you have to be a certain kind of person to put yourself on the field and play rugby (even do the bare minimum).

@chimoaus Interesting to hear that Rassie Erasmus would have resigned if they had lost that Wellington game. Clearly that result gave his squad a lot of self belief a year ahead of the RWC.

@Crucial Cory Jane has defended the England players who weren't happy with their Silver Medal.

Cory Jane was a great player, but he does talk a lot of crap. Not exactly a don't of wisdom, esp if you read his book!

"Controversy". I didn't detect any but apparently there was.

Mrs Boo didn't last the match last night so I mention this morning "So the slightly less bad guys won".

She says (having checked news web sites) "Quite controversial apparently". Seems she had read some comment about "Kiwi TMO" Skeenie and forward passes. I've been hunting for said comments but can't find anything.

I can only assume it was referring to the Marx pass to Mapimpi that they had a close look at. From behind (which was the angle they seemed to concentrate on) it looked line ball at worst. From side on it goes backwards. Not much controversial in that.

Did see Stuff.co.nz have a reference to "controversial" in the banner headline that flashed up when I clicked on them, but could find no further reference.

Has there been much comment on the scrum officiating?

All looked clean and good to me.

If that's the case, I find it very interesting, because Youngs throws dozens of line-ball passes every single match to their big ball runners, which no one seems to notice or comment on.

Commiserations to England, arguably the best team across the competition.

Considering England, SA and NZ all lost a match I’m not sure how you reach that conclusion.

    No 3 in world.

What riles me are the fair weather posh club-type fans. Don't buy tickets to RWC semis because don't want to watch anyone but their darlings. But if England DO make it they all jump on the bandwagon and swarm over. Just the worst winners, because all they can do is gloat.

Know ABs (and yes their fans) have had their arrogant ways, but they handled themselves very well, and the Japanese love them.

Bumped into Savea and Tu'ungafasi on way to final. Had a quick chat. Told them they did themselves proud against Wales and takes big men to pick themselves off the canvas like they did. Won't be unhappy Boks won.

As opposed to numbers 1 and 2?

    Colour me confused.

Just observing that whatever English fans think the official rankings are Boks/ABs/Roses.

@MiketheSnow is there generally a big discrepancy in scrummaging ability between Sinckler and Cole? It was a shame that we didn't get to see any scrums before he left the field to see what impact his departure made.
