He may allow the game to flow more ,open running rugby will suit us down to the ground obviously,
They want a stop start borefest, but they can’t say that , it sounds too negative and against what is good for the game
Stop start borefest? Was the game in Dublin last November a borefest?
Yep

Depends who you were supporting ...
-
@The-irishman as @MajorRage points out. This was only exciting if you were supporting Ireland, or desparately hoping the All Blacks lost.
The game itself was no spectacle and slowed down to a defence oriented slug fest.
It was no Japan v Scotland.

@reprobate out of interest, what does the RM/BB axis have to do to be proven?
I'd say that if we beat Ireland well, that'd do it. Our results since starting it haven't been compelling, or in any way consistent, which you kind of expect with a new pattern.
I do really like the pattern (esp live where you can see the double fullback defense) and can see it working well, but I would like to see us unlock another strong defence with it before having too much confidence. I think the Italian game would have been a super handy extra run for it too, especially with goodhue having been out. -

Oh, definitely.
FFS is that part of the current team strip????!! Who the hell authorized a grey and black shirt, don't they know those colours are to be forever banned from being on an AB strip of any kind!!!!???!!

@Bovidae I heard one of the Irish players saying they have a few new tricks up their sleeve...
Yes - Cian Healy - Ireland plan to run with the ball a few times during the match just to make New Zealand nervous about what they'll be expecting:
Allow me to demonstrate with my Ireland Rugby Game Analyser (PotHale (c) 2019) to show the subtle differences:
NZ Expect:
Ruck, ruck, ruck, ruck, pass, ruck, ruck, ruck, pass, ruck, ruck, ruck, ruck, pass, ruck, ruck, ruck, pass, ruck, ruck, ruck, ruck, pass, ruck, ruck, ruck, pass, ruck, ruck, ruck, ruck, pass, ruck, ruck, kick, ruck, ruck, ruck, ruck, ruck, pass, ruck, ruck, ruck,Ruck, ruck, ruck, ruck, pass, ruck, ruck, ruck, pass, try. Ruck, ruck, ruck...Now imagine if the Irish decide to pass a few more times and New Zealand face this:
NZ Get:
Ruck, ruck, ruck, ruck, pass, pass, ruck, ruck, ruck, pass, pass, ruck, ruck, ruck, ruck, pass, ruck, ruck, ruck, pass, pass, ruck, ruck, ruck, ruck, pass, ruck, ruck, ruck, pass, ruck, ruck, ruck, ruck, pass, ruck, ruck, ruck, kick, ruck, ruck, ruck, ruck, pass, pass, pass, ruck, ruck, ruck, kick, ruck, ruck, ruck, ruck, pass, ruck, ruck, ruck, pass, try. Ruck, ruck, ruck...Their heads will be melted. Game over.

Jeez - you're on a kiwi site, bud. Unless the game was won by 20+ points with NZ pulling away in second gear, it's never a good game, let alone a great one...

Feel like it could be a very busy day for our backrow - Cane needs to get the better of Van der Flop and make sure he can't flop all over our ball. Savea needs to increase his chat and get in Nige's ear before his opposite number, Peter O'Moan-ey. Similarly, Read needs to win the running metres battle over his opposite, CJ Sub-Standard.
What about Sexytoes, Past-his-best, Grindshaw and Ring a Rosey? Surely they get a look in?

ROB HERRING IS set to join Ireland’s World Cup squad in Japan to replace the injured Sean Cronin.
The42 understands that Ulster hooker Herring will join Joe Schmidt’s group in Tokyo tomorrow ahead of Saturday’s World Cup quarter-final against the All Blacks.
It’s believed that Leinster man Cronin was injured at Ireland training this week.

Reposting this excellent vid from an outstanding young Irish teen Youtuber/film maker about his experience at and around the 2018 Dublin test and what it meant to him as a passionate fan of the game. Its well worth a look.

Really want Aussie to get up for this one Perth-style, think England will be a tough SF opponent (if we beat Ire) if they're high on confidence from winning well.
I just want all our Southern neighbors to beat the UK teams. And of course I think we have a better chance against Aus than England. I'd love to see them pull out a Perth game.
What about Ireland? You didn't mention them.....just the UK teams....🤔

The closeness of the score kept it interesting ,
the way you guys play , is different to how we like to see the game played ,holding onto the ball for long peroids without actually doing too much variation wise with it, most kiwis find it boring and frustrating ,and i think the players do too ,
it wins you games , its worked against us in recent times , so good luck to you , we hope to beat you by playing more fast open running rugby, you guys will more than likely try to prevent that happening by bringing the ball back into the trenches , not sure how it will all go , i guess we will find out,
Which is what the comments were based on , different game styles , apologies if you find it offensive

I think it's a given that Ireland will be packing their bags in a few days.
