@Kirwan When he started playing deeper. Fosters idiotic plan of playing flat and trying to offload against the rush defense was what led to the errors in the first half.

@westcoastie A few weeks to go; broken thumb. He's training with the ABs as per normal, just like Scott Barrett.

@Kirwan Yeah, and he got way more space in the second half, too, so it was a lot easier for him at 10 than for RM in the first half.

Well instead of discussing A fantasy game of what may have happened, let’s look at what happened when Richie was under pressure. It wasn’t good, and IMO we don’t have time to get him ready in time.

If Aussie are their useful poor selves then we’ll learn nothing about him either in those games.

@MN5 Savea is probably the form loosie in the world right now, maybe the best. He has to play. And Cane is just massive too. Reads not getting dropped. We have no 6, absolutely none. So its either Cane or Read to 6.

@MN5 Issue is not him at 8 or 6 in set-piece it is around park. Not powerful enough in the middle yet too slow now to be out wide. So you are playing him because he lifts in a lineout, has control at the back of the scrum and is Captain.

@akan004 we're lucky SBarrett was immense in super rugby. 12 months ago I would've agreed.

Maybe so, but SW and SB are just two locks. Then what?

Can World Rugby just sort out the refereeing. It's fucken abysmal. This game just showed it. How number 19 stayed on the field let alone not being penalised requires serious question. I mean what he did was far worse then Toupou last week. It's like they are agreeing that the broadcaster controls the TMO

Strange feeling, perhaps for the first time ever in my life, of being slightly pleased and relieved that the ABs didn't win.

Even in World Cup year, I thought it was staggeringly disrespectful of Steve Hansen and Clown Foster not picking his first-choice 23 against a touring Springbok team. I hope the Old Foe never again face any sort of All Black B+ team when they visit New Zealand.

@Rebound Has anyone got a cut/gif/time stamp of BBBR injury? I was raging too much to remember where it was

@Kirwan I think BB would have struggled at 10 tonight.

He’s handled this sort of pressure before, and he was our best player today, so I don’t accept that.

Difference too in SR where he doesn’t get the front foot ball that Richie is used to. A whiff of being a flat track bully about him.

I don’t think TJ’s service helped RM tonight. He also looked anxious early doors, kicking straight into Bok defenders twice, shovelling pill straight out to SBW without moving forward first. Just a deer in headlights first half

@junior wouldn't have mattered who was 9, SA was so offside. TJP earnt us our first 6 points didn't he through turn-overs. TJ & BB kept us in it the first 30min.

Not counting his 2 clean drops tonight, when was the last time Kieran Read did anything noteworthy in a black jersey?

I know it’s game 2 of a World Cup year, and we must be patient because Mr Hansen is keeping his real game plan under wraps, but these last 2 games have me bloody worried. The amount of basic errors we are making is horrendous and our decision making has been awful.

Worst 160 minutes of All Black rugby I’ve seen in a long time.

The most crucial thing from this game is BBBR's injury. I don't think we will win the Rwc without him.

Yeah all the debate about who plays in the back row, at ten and in the midfield, is meaningless if he’s not on the pitch.
