Nah. He is an AB fullback to me. He has been shifted to wing when it suits, but he is a full back.
Smith offers so much more at fullback. He’s ok on the wing, but I want him touching the ball more often and making more decisions
Want Bender in the team as wise heads are essential come knock out time. That said, Beaudy looked deadly at 15 and was my MOTM. Bender available at 14 OR 15 is for me a good arrow to have in the quiver.
I've been dead against the BB at 15 brigade, mostly because he's the best 10 and I have doubts about RM at 10. But after the other night I'm starting to change my tune. He isn't just a good 15, he could be a great 15. We only need RM not to fark up and to kick goals. I think it's worth giving another shot. The worst case is that BB just goes back to 10.
I think they'll persevere with it, TBH. It's the closest to the BB-D-Mac two 10s axis they played last year, which seems to be there preferred means of dealing with the rush defence. I don't think we can play Bender in the second play-making role with nearly the same threat - it's just not a natural part of his game.

My point was that BB isn't as bad as many think he is.
Just looking at the 2016-2018 eoyt. His kicking is close to 100%. Very weird considering some of the howlers in NZ. Hope that % will transfer over to Japan 🤞

Didn't know that about BB, but he kicks for a team called the "Hurricanes". There might be a reason that they are called that and he doesn't get high % at home.
Yep, it does seem to indicate that the Caketin is not a nice place to kick.
Josh Ioane is another who has a magic percentage at home (87% or something) but only 77% away - probably helped by playing undercover at home.
Edit: I should add that most kickers are much better at home (Dmac is at 90% apparently), which makes Barrett's number more interesting.
Yes, we're forgetting that Pollard missed a relative sitter on Saturday too.

The difference being he kicked everything else. BB has to be at 75% at least, which would have brought home the bacon on Saturday.

Saffas can consider themselves very fortunate. In the 76th minute, Ofa was tackled early and dropped the ball as a result. Should have been penalty Nz from 20 metres out instead of a scrum to the Boks. Lead would have gone to 10 and the game would have been wrapped up. For them to whinge about what BB did shows how one eyed they are.

Saffas love to play the one-eyed victim even at the best of times. If had been Brodie coming in the side clearing out Snyman we would have heard 10x the noise about it.
I noticed that prominent neutrals tweeted that the ruck was a mess and the rules need to change so we don't have injuries like that in the RWC.

Brodie was caught interfering in the ruck trying to slow down the ball
Synman came in and smoked Brodie
Sadly he got badly injured but Brodie had no business being in that ruck
