@junior I don’t think Hansen was happy with SBWs effort. Dragged early. Back to Counties. Indicating to me that he didn’t do what was planned.
That seems to make sense - the fact Hansen said the most positive thing was the he didn't get injured is fairly damning. Thinking back to some of his one-out hit ups in that first half, I think he perhaps went off script a little bit there. It would certainly explain the complete lack of support and Hanswen can't have been happy that his first two hit-ups resulted in turnovers.

Nah. He is an AB fullback to me. He has been shifted to wing when it suits, but he is a full back.
Smith offers so much more at fullback. He’s ok on the wing, but I want him touching the ball more often and making more decisions
Want Bender in the team as wise heads are essential come knock out time. That said, Beaudy looked deadly at 15 and was my MOTM. Bender available at 14 OR 15 is for me a good arrow to have in the quiver.
I've been dead against the BB at 15 brigade, mostly because he's the best 10 and I have doubts about RM at 10. But after the other night I'm starting to change my tune. He isn't just a good 15, he could be a great 15. We only need RM not to fark up and to kick goals. I think it's worth giving another shot. The worst case is that BB just goes back to 10.
I think they'll persevere with it, TBH. It's the closest to the BB-D-Mac two 10s axis they played last year, which seems to be there preferred means of dealing with the rush defence. I don't think we can play Bender in the second play-making role with nearly the same threat - it's just not a natural part of his game.

@gt12 Rugbypass' stats are unreliable. Moreover, stats over a longer period of time don't take into account changes I was referring to in my previous post.
Or where the kicks are taken from (in front of the posts or out wide).
My point was that BB isn't as bad as many think he is.
Just looking at the 2016-2018 eoyt. His kicking is close to 100%. Very weird considering some of the howlers in NZ. Hope that % will transfer over to Japan 🤞

Richie kicks ridiculously well at home 85%, but not so well away (60%). Barrett is the opposite at about 85%.
Didn't know that about BB, but he kicks for a team called the "Hurricanes". There might be a reason that they are called that and he doesn't get high % at home.
Yep, it does seem to indicate that the Caketin is not a nice place to kick.
Josh Ioane is another who has a magic percentage at home (87% or something) but only 77% away - probably helped by playing undercover at home.
Edit: I should add that most kickers are much better at home (Dmac is at 90% apparently), which makes Barrett's number more interesting.
Yes, we're forgetting that Pollard missed a relative sitter on Saturday too.

Identical location to Beaudy's missed attempt, and they both pushed it to the right. The wind always seems to swirl in there

The difference being he kicked everything else. BB has to be at 75% at least, which would have brought home the bacon on Saturday.

Probably the funniest thing I've seen today. Probably not the only balls to hit them in the face that night.

@Jaguares4real the Saffas are the last team who should accuse us of cheating

All Blacks cheating
I'm shocked TBH
Christ, talk about a storm in a shot glass. It's not like he was behind half way. How much difference would that have made to the kick. Fark all I'd imagine. Some of these weirdos comparing it to ball tampering?
-
I agree it's trivial Moving the ball 1m forward in the 22 is immaterial
It's just pointless and yet so blatant/careless by BB
In an age of dozens of camera angles and everyone having Smartphones......
Just reinforce narrative of ABs "bending" the rules
-
Saffas can consider themselves very fortunate. In the 76th minute, Ofa was tackled early and dropped the ball as a result. Should have been penalty Nz from 20 metres out instead of a scrum to the Boks. Lead would have gone to 10 and the game would have been wrapped up. For them to whinge about what BB did shows how one eyed they are.
-
@Jaguares4real said in TRC: The All Blacks against the Springboks (version 98):
What are they guilty of beyond having a reckless disregard for opponents at rucks?
But Saffas do love a good moan at Refs.....
They have a long proud history of cheating. How do you think we never won a series in SA until 1996?
-
Saffas love to play the one-eyed victim even at the best of times. If had been Brodie coming in the side clearing out Snyman we would have heard 10x the noise about it.
I noticed that prominent neutrals tweeted that the ruck was a mess and the rules need to change so we don't have injuries like that in the RWC.

It's a bit weird. Made the kick harder for himself by closing the angle. Is this the one he missed?

I guarantee if the roles were reversed, and one of our boys knocked out one of theirs, Erasmus would not have been as philosophical as Shag
