@canefan Rayasi looked the goods on attack but was found out a number of times on D, but he will get better with more experience.
If Goosen is ruled out I'd be quite conservative like we were when we won the title a few years ago and have Marshall at fullback, Jordie to the right wing and Lam back to the left. That provides us with another safe pair of hands and another kicking option which I think will be crucial against the Crusaders.
If I was the Crusaders I would kick it to Lam's wing all day, he is woeful on defence.
Umaga-Jensen on the wing? Or is that a bit too radical? I think he has played there at some point.

@Chris I’d argue Ardie is the heart and soul of our team, if we didn’t have him our W/L record would’ve been a lot worse.
I agree though, Crusaders hot favourites with their forward pack.
Ardie has been amazing this year. He clearly looked gassed at the end of the match but still used his nous and summoned enough energy to get the game winning turnover
-
@Canes4life Ardie is the fire, TJ is the firestarter

Just watched replay. Decent win but I'm afraid we're going to get reamed next week. Ardie is awesome. Just shows how stupid it is to write off players in their early 20s.

Agree
Him and TJP are studs
But Canes have too many weakness that Crusaders will exploit
Lam is a liability in defence and Saders will go after like they did when they last played
Tight 15 this season will get marmalised again lack of quality outside of Coles
EVEN if Proctors fit I'd be testing his 13 channel & making him stretch to see how robust his pecs/bicpes are after his injury
Crusaders by 12 points

Barrett is Goneksi
Nice Sabbatical and a season of playing mickey mouse rugby in Japan
-
@Jaguares4real yeah I posted this a few days back you would have to wonder if it’s worth offering a SR contract now if it’s 2022 he comes back as a 31 year old and not a lot left

@Stargazer with Christie and Judd leaving, who are the prime candidates to back up Perenara moving forward? Do we chase Fakatava? Some have mentioned Jono Hickey as a future replacement (eww) or do we wait for the ITM Cup and hope a gem comes through from there.
-
@Canes4life The thought of Jono Hickey or Jamie Booth (back) at the Canes give me nightmares. I guess we'll have to wait and see whether Fakatava re-signs at the Highlanders. I wish they'd hurry up with their announcements!
-
@Stargazer I'd say a few will come once our campaign finishes.
-
@Canes4life I meant the Highlanders' announcements. We've been waiting for weeks now. Then we'd maybe know whether Fakatava is still a free man.
-
@Stargazer Oh got yah, hopefully Fakatava sees the light and heads North.
-
@Canes4life Melani Matavao?
