Pretty sure Shannon was raised by his grandparents in Tonga.

so we are looking at playing a new style of rugby v the French...

@taniwharugby Just when I go giving Hinton shit in the thread about NZ's rugby journalists, he manages to come out with something slightly interesting and without a trace of negativity.

But it is mostly sound bites, 'not revolution' says Beaudy, so really is it any different from any other year? Can't stand still and they have to deal with rush defence - I hope it is tho, but I can't see it being anything more than an evolution of last years ' play so bloody fast no on else can keep up, meaning we score way more tries than we let in' plan.
I hope the plan includes do not give away so many stupid cards, we had 8/1 vs Eng 1/0, Boks 1/1, and Ireland 3/0 - dangerous stuff -

@nzzp I will say that it's a good thing they looked beyond Kaino at the EoYT, so that's a head start. The problem is replacing Read who is a shadow of his PoTY version. I'll be astonished if following back surgery he attains those heights again.
Yep, probably why they have been keeping him under wraps for so long...

If I hear another rugby player talk about "us challenging ourselves" I am going to vomit.
It could be worse. They could be going on a 'journey'
That requires a pact.

I hope so. The tactics were absolutely dire last year. Some of those moves still fill me with dread. Still can't believe the Israel Dagg hit up off an attacking scrum.

At the end of Lions 3, I'm still steaming about TJP flapping his arms aroudn when we had an attacking scrum, and letting Conor thieve the ball.
Do your core job first, worry about the ref second. Modern rugby sucks for this, there are more seagulls than our local dump.

Maybe. Or a ruthless media strategy designed to make Eddie's brain implode under the strain of uncertainty.

Four sets of numbers and three teams? Or am I being blind? And...England?

All Blacks coach Steve Hansen indicated Taufua could play all three loose forward positions.
I'd missed that. With the limitations on squad numbers the selectors love utilities.
Have a hunch they're hoping Fifita does enough to convince them that he can cover lock at RWC. Which would make third lock a dogfight between Barrett (S), Patty T and Romero.

I'm guessing it's the numbers for each team, over their respective seasons...
NZ got 8/1
Eng got 1/0
Boks got 1/1
Ireland got 3/0
...?
(Although - it took me a fair bit of time to figure it out myself) -
