Are we sure the ABs won? Reading most of this thread, you'd think we stunk the house out and Barrett's goalkickng actually "cost us".....
Most of the tests this year the ABs have started slowish and built pressure. Then there's a period of screboard pressure that effectively takes the opposition out of the match.
Today seemed no different.
I thought today was different. We weren't building pressure, we were releasing it off a poor side by fumbling or taking bad options. The 2nd half was much more accurate

Does anyone else think Barrett kicks too front on. What about more rotation in the strike. I reckon a change in technique. I'm sure he can work it out.
Never thought I'd ever see a more influential AB 7 than Jones but did. Also thought I'd never see a more influential 10 than DC. Could be wrong again. Never seen a 10 dominate a game like Barrett anywhere, ever. -

On a day when BB didn't have his GK sights in that was a powerful display. Sure, in the first half we were inaccurate but the effort endeavour and confidence didn’t waver. Some of those tries were magnificent, a mix of relentless accurate attack and some freakish touches of skill. In the last 25 minutes we blew them away with our fitness and any time you can put 50 on the boks at home it's an achievement. They were well up for the fight early but the Boks simply showed a lack of ambition and were punished accordingly

I thought Barrett had one of his poorer games but he still dominated. Perhaps same with the whole team , one of the more inaccurate performances but they still dominated. ALB outstanding again, Brodie excellent as well. TJ doesn't have the same distance on his pass as A. Smith but he will fight for the ball at the breakdown and is accurate when he clears.

His last few matches have been good but not fluff worthy and I doubt he'll rate highly in the TSF MOTM poll this week.
ALB should be the one you're all cracking one out over on the evidence of the last two games. Man that guy is class. Squire had a great cameo too. I can see why he's the impact guy they bring on after Kaino has softened them up.
What a crazy game, the Boks were weirdly in touch in that first half while the ABs were running in tries. But man the ABs are a class above with the ball in hand and a bit of momentum. Even Owen Franks looked ok with the ball this week.
@jegga They showed great humility this week, both Read and TJP commented on how well the Boks played in the first half. So too Hansen. TBF I think they do it on purpose as an up you to the Aussies, it's like haha we rate the Boks higher than you blokes.

Gotta feel for the Bok fans, thier rugby seems to be in a big hole, and as if you needed more evidence than when Steyn was recalled a few weeks...he offers nothing, was a very good player once, no longer, his game does not belong at this level anymore, culminated on that DG attempt, pretty much summed up SA's game today.
The only times they looked dangerous was when Le Roux came on...but you cant blame Steyn or the players, they have a shitty gameplan (or none) with limited cattle right now.
We did make hard work of that first 40 with some silly errors, but never did I think that game was in danger.
The silly thing is, they had the Lions this year, who showed a style of play that can win games (and fans) yet next level up, SA seem reluctant to play like this, why? I know it isnt natural and wont come easy, but will serve them much better in the long run than the god awful game they are playing right now in 2005.

Can't really remember the last All Black who snuck in on the back of injuries and then turned out to be what we are looking for? Maybe Brad Thorn when he came back?
Might be wrong, but I think when Jane was initially selected to start on the wing , we were a few options down with injury at the time , he may have got there in the end anyway

Just watching replay. At 27th minute Beast cleans out Whitelock and then pins him down about a metre from the ruck. Beast is deliberately placing his entire weight and knee on Whitelock. Now if Whitelock reacts to that he gets a yellow, but Beast gets nothing for deliberately holding a player down and taking him out of the game.
This is probably something all sides do and it should be cracked down on imho.
The Bok 13 kick and chase vs BB was hilarious.

Even when having an "off" game he craps on every other 10 in the game. His skillset is absurd.

ALB has been a surprising revelation. Always thought he'd hold his own for a wee while and then we'd see (like Crotty and Feki) but, by christ the young lad has learned his stuff well and looks a natural in black. Well done son!
TJ adds some good physicality and is mostly pretty good - passing was suss last night though

Slowing down rucks, contesting while being prone over ruck bodies, obstructing after the ruck, Brodie's tackle and get up, TJ's try (fuck off the TMO gets to make the final call eh Wayne?), Brodie's try, Lima's try are just examples of how he does his job

I feel real empathy for my Saffa mates - good honest rugby men and women- who have had this dross forced upon them. I loved watching that game live, had great fun cackling and oohing with glee during the early hours of the morning.

Strange game, man the Boks were limp. Just offered nothing, kicked all their ball away and were fairly passive in defense for the majority of the game. How did they beat the Wallabies last week? Having said that the fall of both these teams has been monumental. Crazy to think the AB's have room to improve and settle.
As others have said ALB was awesome. Exactly what we need from our midfield. Someone who can bend the line and break a tackle/take a gap but is awesome at giving it to his support when that is the best option. Some great "SBW" offloads too. Come Lions time we are going to have 6-7 options for that midfield.
BB's kicking was shit but he had a decent game otherwise. Some great running and passing.

If you include SR then no question. There aren't enough superlatives to describe his SR season. The highlight reel in youtube is a thing of beauty.

@jegga It was, believe it or not, a seven point ballgame at 22-15 at the three quarter mark (reviewing a highlights package - TJP scored a try about eight seconds later). Then fuck me, it turned into a seven times tables test at school.
Credit to Nisbett and Goldie, even they knew the scoreline was flattering to the Boks at that point.
