@canefan there was talk he might be ready for the end of year tour which would be great. I kind of hope they take Sotutu to have a good look too. It would be good to see him tested in test footy.

Yeah I hope the door isn't closed for Sotutu. Based on performance, things should be wide open for places

@canefan I wish Iose was bigger, cause he’s a good 8 too. Regarding Sotutu, his tackle stats, number of runs was down on Satitis, Jacobson and others but his try assists, try’s and line break assists were the best of the lot. He also provides a jumper at line out time, more size in maul defense. I think with an attacking ABs side he will add xfactor. You surround him with your hard workers.

The numbers can be misleading as well. If they see he's got work ons, what better place to do that but in ABs camp on a three week long tour? He's not a project player, I assume they just want him to polish up some areas

All the talk of Roigard I just hope he comes back well from that nasty injury, some players never come back the same they lose pace and flexibility from that injury or take a long time to reach their pre injury form.

I don't want him rushed back. Let him rehab properly because we need him for the longterm

He's looking pretty good fellas. Likely a return for Counties at the back-end of the NPC.

Cam Roigard on track for possible NPC return after injury

He has a channel on Insta that he is posting his rehab and recovery on, posts updates every couple of days, looking good!

Personally I think Roigard will give the Boks kittens and have no idea why Foster omitted him from the RWC final. This is the same guy who ran 60 meters from the base of a ruck and skinned 5 of their players 3 weeks earlier. He would have definitely kept them guessing with that fresh in their memory.

For a bloke who's played 3 Tests, started 1, and scored a solo try in the dying moments against a Bokke team physically knackered from giving the AB's an absolute thumping in essentially a exhibition match, Roigard sure seems to have morphed into an absolute AB legend capable of singe-handedly turning around the AB's fortunes.........

    Terrific potential though.

Almost reached the heights of Ngatai

For me, the team either needs to adopt a 6-2 split, or use the tactic of shifting Scott Barrett to the blindside in the end game, as they have used in previous seasons. If Papali’i and Barrett on the flanks it adds lineout presence and physicality at the right time in the game. I think adding Darry at the same time accentuates this advantage.

Other players that should be considered as impact subs include Sititi, possibly Luke Jacobson and Pasilio Tosi at prop.

Either way, the bench strategy needs to be revised.

    I like that.
In fact if that had happened the outcome could well have been different.

A big problem is how slow our loosies are, and the answer is to move a guy there who was too slow 5 years ago?

yes yes, but he's slow and tall! And reasonably powerful.

Exactly - and even worse when he's already played 60 minutes and is half-knackered - up against a pretty much entirely replaced pack.

Definitely need another loosie on the bench. If something does wrong Ardie can always go to the wing...

Just wondering what Razors expectations for wins-losses would have been for 2024.

Obviously he would have wanted to win every game but I reckon with the changes in playing group he may have expected

    1-1. Win/loss against England
    2-0 against Argentina
    1-1 against South Africa
    2-0 against Oz
    1-0 against Japan
    3-1 in Europe

And that would be regarded as a pretty decent first year

I really dislike how Finau gets treated. Gets given a random game here and there to "prove" himself. Sure he's looked pretty bad but he's a young guy with fuck all tests and just gets thrown in randomly and turfed when it doesn't work. He's on a hiding to nothing.

Same. The positive spin is that they recognise he's got a tonne of potential but not as ready for tests as they hoped, so investing a lot of time on him at training.

    Hmmm. Options

    1. he starts
    2. he’s on the bench
    3. he’s not in the 23

He’s had 1,2,3 this season and he did ok at 3.
