ABs should be much better this week. Inability to break down rush defence still a concern.

TJ is out for a couple of weeks - Hotham called in as cover.

That’s a meteoric rise for the lad or as I like to call it Noah’s arc.

    Noah Hotham?

I suspect he may be close to getting picked. Not saying I would select him, but when he started looking like he belonged in Super Rugby this year he showed a handy running game, a crisp pass and the ability to clear under pressure.

He could be the backline selection version of Bell.

Yep NZR said begiining of last year they had tabs on Hotham!

That would seem like a fairly stupid thing for "NZR" to say, whatever that means. Since when does "NZR" comment on up and coming players?

Jeez if only we, as media and fans, had seen this, then we wouldn't have been struggling with the rush for the last decade! I'm sure there is more to it, but it does seem blindingly obvious

Funaki is definitely a better player, and has had more game/big game experience, esp recently. I reckon it is a bit of a bullshit call, very open to bias

Add to it, they're going to be in Auckland, you know, where Funaki actually lives and plays? Someone who was a big part of a super dominant team and didn't just play a couple of decent games towards the end of the season after stinking it up at the start.

Funaki would be exactly who you bring in as injury cover. This is getting silly now.

    Yeah, earlier the better.
Quicker pass than Christie and Perenara, total nightmare to defend against around the fringes, and massive and accurate boot.

    Prove he's fit yes.
He's got nothing to prove in terms of playing ability.

I'm a lot less confident of that now than I would've been three weeks ago.

Roigard might have been the player name dropped the most by Razor when he first started doing the media rounds after Foz finished up.

    Lock Roigard in (assuming fitness).

Well it was actually the NZR high performance manager(I think his title was) , he was on tv talking about talent etc they (NZR) had eye on, and Hotham was one of a few names he dropped. Not sure why it would be a problem, when you talking about players in the game. I used to hear same in Aus. I don't think it unusal at all.
