So Scott B got to choose his vice captains and chose Savea and JB-his brother. I don't know if it is sibling bias because I'm not sure who the options are but it does look a bit unusual. I think I would have gone DMac as he is likely to see a lot of gametime (just like Jordie I suppose).
It’s clear black n yellow bias.

Because that's how you end up with a plodder like Frizzell
I ain't walking back shit. I don't believe Ardie should be locked in to the 8 jersey.
And yes caners he played differently in the RWC and we suffered. Because suddenly no one was playing anywhere but tight.
We suffered because Cane went and got himself red carded and he wasn't there to do his job when it mattered most.
There we have it kids; tackling people was Cane's job.
I mean it kind of was, what else did he bring to the table?

Fascinated by the convo here today. But I honestly think selection is the least of the ABs problems. I’m not going to question Razor until he’s proven to be worthy of questioning.
More pressing to me is if Razor’s going to be happy playing on the Boks’ terms of rolling subs, stop/start play and can he counter their innovation, bravery and intelligence?
What kind of rugby are we going to see under him?
Sure, Sotutu will be at Ashton gate in a year’s time, becoming the next James Lowe / JBP as the one who got away. If I was in his position I’d probably be on my way even if I got the call as an injury replacement.
Sam Cane has probably played his last game. Don’t think there will be any sentimentality there even when he’s fully fit. And neither should there be.

I really doubt Ioane was given 'the word' early for several reasons, firstly why deny yourself a backup option in a notoriously damaging position, secondly why would anyone feel like they owe him 'the word' when almost everyone else finds out a couple of days before, and finally even the Captain wasn't discussed with the player until 3 weeks ago. Sure Ioane doesn't want to go, but the money and time with the family is much better than when you are an AB - much more time away in SR and tests and much less money than Japan. It is a perfectly reasonable position not to want to go, but decide you have to put your feelings aside and do what is best for your young family's future
I think the even more logical sense is - why would you tell a guy on the fringe he's not going to make it when he might have a barnstorming season (tick) while every other option might be crocked come selection time (half tick). That's what doesn't compute.
But hey, grow up.

I'd give Sotutu one cap in the Rugby Championship just to make England wait longer.
If he’s next cab off the rank,
Good chance he might get an opportunity anyway , it’s a big season
-
Predicatable arguments after predictable selections.
I don't have a view either way on Sotutu vs Sititi but thats mainly because my SR watching this year was the 5 minutes highlights in youtube. Sure, Sotutu scored a lot of tries, but I don't really remember seeing him make a lot of them. Sititi was a standout for the Chiefs knockout games which I saw, but he wasn't in the final.
But good to see some TSF infighting again.

This can be seen as a test for Hoss. Judging by Razor’s speech on stage his mental toughness is questioned.
Get back on horse. Play the house down in NPC, and await the EOYT call.

Disappointed to see Perofeta in ahead of Plummer and Love, and Bell in ahead of Riccy. Tough on Sotutu also.
But I expect Perofeta, Bell, TJP, Blackadder and Jacobsen might just be placeholders until the guns are available. Don't get the huge disdain for Sam Cane. Hoping he will rejoin the squad with Jordan, Cam and Sami. -

I hope so. The ABs will be better for it

These coaches know who is mentally consistent and focused over a whole season or more. They aren't all that interested in a highlights reel.

Yeah true, Bell and Sititi have definitely shown that across their storied careers.

Others have had 5 years to state their case

The top try scorer was also second on try assists. On the other side of the ball he got plenty of turnovers too, looking at NZ loosies he was only behind Harmon (equal with Jacobson). Ruck arrivals he is only behind Papali'i and Jacobson in NZ. Decent lineout forward too.. second most used NZ target
He had a hell of a season
I'm assuming its personal at some level. MacDonald struggled with him early on.
As for the rest of the squad it's fairly predictable apart from Tosi. You knew which way Robertson would go on certain players regardless of SR performances

except they are younger (22, 21) and will get much better, Sotutu is nearly 27.

May get better. Sotutu doesn't exactly have a foot in the grave. As Duluth said, the stats don't lie, he was one of the top loosies in SR. It's personal

That shows their excuse for non selection is bogus. Not a great start

he has a poor attitude judging by his social media and refused to answer Jason Ryan's phone calls last year, it's time to move on, he's overrated and always has been.
